2025-06-10 16:53:09 +0000 UTCIt was really big (and potentially formative) for a lot of us when we grew up in the 90's (alongside Pokemon and Digimon), but I think it's fair to say as more things became main stream in the west, DBZ kinda fell by the wayside as the other anime you mentioned began to spring up. It might be hard to contrast accurately as the experience you're sharing is roughly 5-10 years after DBZ was in it's heyday, as opposed to it just being a Europe-North America difference.
