News Brief: We Review TV's Fashy Fall Lineup

On this Patreon subscriber-only News Brief we take time out to mock the surge in new military-themed television shows premiering this fall and their played out tropes, including, but not limited to:

1) The Good Snitch Muslim

2) Techno-porn

3) Imperial feminism

4) Highlighting sacrifices of U.S. troops while ignoring those being occupied and bombed

5) Abercrombie models-turned-kick ass killing machines who are also mysteriously woke

The shows we mocked are as follows:

Valor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HMYd4XV9kQQ

The Brave https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfMJI9RFTSU

Long Road Home http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/the-long-road-home/videos/the-long-road-home-trailer/

Comments

Killing Hope, by William Blum is quite good, albeit depressing.

You guys should try to see American Assassin (without paying for it if possible) it seems from what I have read and heard as explicit Anti Iran Deal propaganda in a very overt way.

As someone starting a lefty book club, what is a good book antidote for all of this?

Burt Chintas

HaHa, nice. Can't wait for the movie episode (maybe with a mockery of American Assassin?)

Jason

Really looking forward to the full-length episode about this
