News Brief: How to Respond to Knee-Jerk Bigotry on Live TV

Citations Needed is off this week, but we do have a fascinating interview with Hoda Katebi on her now-infamous WGN television segment. In this News Brief, we explore what it means to "sound American," the politics of women's clothing, and why everyone with even a single drop of Iranian blood is expected to be an expert on nuclear energy and international affairs.

Awesome awesome awesome, i laughed so hard at the video, then felt a little bad at laughing because it is so depressing, then decided i could laugh again. Hoda is fantastic, i don't know anything about fashion but was really impressed with her composure and courage to not just change the subject or move on, but be honest and answer such ridiculous questioning. Also, these jean shorts are still cool as long as i wear them with calf-high socks and sandals....right?

I was hoping someone would interview her to get more details on that trainwreck interview, and I'm so hype you guys brought her on. Great ep.

Haven't listened to it yet, but I'm just going to go ahead and like it because it's always good.
