Journalism school seems a little like religious training or something. You repeat these myths about the world (the law applies equally to rich and poor; journalists can and should be “neutral”; civility is more important than justice; there are two sides to every story) until you’ve internalized them. J-school is where you bury yourself in a lifetime of debt in exchange for being made incredibly stupid.

Not to be too sentimental here, but you guys have a really nice podcast. Citations Needed is the first podcast I've been able to listen to regularly, both because of the content and because your speech is fairly pleasing to the ear. Is Margaret Sullivan one of the few decent WaPo people you were referring to? And, it's kind of weird that in the same week journalists get in an uproar about Bernie suggesting WaPo coverage is biased by Bezos, those creepy Amazon Twitter accounts pop up.

Surprised that you didn't mention MSNBC trying to undermine Bernie's criticisms of the media by bringing up that "Hoarse Whisperer" Twitter false story. Aside from the fallout from that being very funny, them doing that completely proves Bernie's point about their naked bias and interests.
