News Brief: Centering Republicans at DNC Isn't About Courting Voters, It's About Courting Donors

tortured myself with NPR this morning. Heard (my) first 2020 Russia is heavily interfering and "brainwashing" progressives. I laughed and then realized it was in reaction to Trump possibly winning and then I cried. . .

Been listening to y'all for months now, finally got around to subscribing. Cannot wait to listen to all the News Briefs!

I sometimes wonder if there's a level of abject pandering to them that raises Wall Street donor's suspicion?

Something about this brief was very comforting to me. I've listened to it 3 times. I think it's the way that you guys see right through all the smoke and mirrors and so effortlessly ascertain and communicate the reality of the situation. You often talk about how your show has a depressing outlook, but I find it very soothing to listen to you guys, because you leave me feeling like both my feet are firmly planted on the ground. Thanks for your great work.

As a delegate at the convention, I needed this content, as usual. I really admire the podcast for somehow accurately conveying the despair and cynicism of politics and media, but also for making every minute of an episode or news brief have some point....I don't know if I've explained that well. Maybe that you both manage to make your points but not wallow in it. I only wish that you had more discussion on what can be done, especially by people who did invest in electoral politics, but I know that's not the focus of the podcast.

Great one, hope you guys drage "rising" next

This was a good one! Liked the analysis. "What the fuck was this year," yeah big mood my guy. What bugs me is how the Dems have instrumentalized Trump to blackmail us into voting for these really shitty candidates. I almost feel like if Trump wasn't there, the Bernie/Squad wing of the party could break off and form its own party. Hating him is the ONLY thing holding the Dems together at this point.

near the end you mention the clintonites and k-hivers are only interested in gaining power but i think that's incorrect. it applies to operatives of the republican party, but it seems like the dem party machinery exists mostly to perpetuate itself anyway thanks for this

yall should open this one up, a lot of people online are struggling with wtf the dems are doing right now, and to be honest it's confusing. this is one piece of the puzzle - describing what form the democratic party actually takes, a mckinsey-like consultancy amalgamation of non-profit, media, and electoral groups, which now acts as a single system to perpetuate itself.
