An older one I recommend, Episode 53, about "hypocrisy": https://citationsneeded.medium.com/episode-53-the-increasingly-dull-edge-of-hypocrisy-takedowns-2ca8529fb21f

You have been in my Overcast subs for "a while" (don't judge) but this is the first ep of yours that I have actually listened to. You convinced me that you're important enough to become a patron of. All those "realistic" arguments about why it isn't the right time to stop jailing people and, really, torturing them without trial are precisely analogous to Jefferson's rationalizations about why it wasn't the right time to free enslaved people yet, because, y'know, there might be problems.

Ted Delphos

Guess I missed it. Looks like it’s about human rights (from 2017). Not gonna lie, I want to listen.

Dash X

Oh- really early on they did an interview with Glenn Greenwald. I think it was episode 8. I just had the bad timing to turn on that episode (I am listening to episodes from before I found out about the podcast) in the same week that Ol' Greenwald did a softball interview with Alex Jones over a new documentary about him.

Max Von C

What interviews?

Dash X

hey man no glennwashing in the comments

evan gilman

That's Glenn with two N's, just for future info

I mean Cenk & Anna are just TV spokes-celebs who get farther away from anything vaguely "left" as their incomes rise and they join the inner sanctum of the right-wing MSM "pundits", venting their own prejudices as psuedo-humanist answers . . . I do greatly appreciate your including the Katzenberg connection, obviously no surprise that they promote jail-the-poor social strategies that their donors/sponsors advocate . . . Phil Ochs called these people out correctly 4 or 5 decades ago in the song "Love Me I'm A Liberal". I'm liberal and tolerant until I'm in any way slightly inconvenienced, and then my "pragmatism" tells me to lock all the untermenschen up, they are human "filth" and are asking for it!!

Mark Schneider

You won me over, after 3 months I finally feel guilty enough to give you money. Just... no more interviews with Glen Greenwald, eh?

Max Von C

Count me in to raise my contribution. You guys do THE BEST podcast around. Count me in.

Who is still watching these clowns? You’re suppose to stop watching TYT for the same reason why kids stop playing with toys: you out-grow them.

Same here, signed up today!

I finally signed up for the patreon with your special call to action this episode. This episode was great, tyt was definitely a gateway into slightly more progressive politics for me in high school in the 00s and it's disappointing to hear about this from them! But I look forward to checking out your back catelogue

Jeremy Hawkins

Yikes. I’ve never watched TYT, but it’s depressing how we go from the 2020 protests to ‘progressives’ in 2022 relying on lurid crime anecdotes to drum up opposition to policies that are perfectly sound from a statistical perspective. Also disturbing how there’s no consideration for the violence associated with incarceration — as if the only morally significant harm is that which happens to people who aren’t stigmatized with the label ‘criminal’. I’m sure TYT try to frame it as concerns about ‘safety,’ but the audio clips have this rhetorical zeal that indicates that they take a kind of pleasure in the idea of ‘bad guys’ suffering the hell of our carceral system. Just shows how deeply rooted the punitive mind-virus is in American culture.

Mint

something worth mentioning is that basically everyone against bail reform will scream "innocent til proven guilty!!!!!!" when a news report comes out about a rich guy raping his subordinates.

Rai

Just finished it. Great episode, thank you guys
