In this News Brief we detail how The New York Times, Washington Post, and CNN took a pathological liar with a clear ideological agenda at his word he's worried about "waste" for the sole reason he’s rich and powerful.

Musk is objectively evil. I'm not sure if there are any other public figures - not openly involved in hate groups - to whom I could apply that label. He is a disgusting nepo-baby hate-mongering swine.

Every episode should be broken down in US high schools

This should be required listening for everyone in the US.

Nice Kamchatka reference.

When Adam called Musk a "fucking dickhead," I felt that. Very possibly my least favorite person in American politics. I can't wait until Trump gets tired of his idiocy and kicks him out of the inner circle.

I would like to humbly suggest pronouncing "DOGE" as "doggy." I think that would help take some of the sharp edges off of this whole thing the US is doing.

Please do an episode on non delegation theory. I believe it's what the Republicans are attempting to setup for the Democrats to offer as a solution, which would be ostensibly automated austerity by procedural purgatory in Congress. I know this speculation is outside the intent of the show, but this sort of partisan gambit to force through bi partisan crud feels right and something you'd be reporting on anyway. Are the political benefits better or consequentially a liability having a singular figure maintain these departments? Does it provide significant leverage anymore? Spreading the blame around the party, while painting it as more democratic oversight sounds like the smart play.

Great coverage ❤️ I was surprised (in a good way) at how the AP covered this: https://apnews.com/article/elon-musk-donald-trump-doge-21153a742fbad86284369bb173ec343c Elon Musk tightens grip on federal government as Democrats raise alarms “Elon Musk is rapidly consolidating control over large swaths of the federal government with President Donald Trump ’s blessing, … The speed and scope of his work has been nothing short of stunning. In a little more than two weeks since Trump took office, the world’s richest man has created an alternative power structure inside the federal government for the purpose of cutting spending and pushing out employees. None of this is happening with congressional approval, inviting a constitutional clash over the limits of presidential authority. … [Musk] oversees a team of people at the so-called Department of Government Efficiency. The team has been dispersed throughout federal agencies to gather information and deliver edicts. “ Though it does take at face value the notion of “slashing government spending” it reads as the AP would cover any national enemy coup
