Harley, here. If you don't know who I am, no worries, I am How to ADHD's Community Manager! Though I definitely wear more hats than that. But that's besides the point.
I'm having a tough time focusing on work and what I need (and want) to be focusing on... and I figure I'm probably not alone in that fact!
So I figure... why not make this a little.. interactive? Or as interactive as I can get for a text post.
How? So glad you asked!
In the comments, note one task (or step) that you want to complete next.
It can be anything!
Some examples:
Getting out of bed.
Putting water on to boil for tea.
Opening up your email at work.
Or even as granular as entering your name in the name field on a form you need to fill out.
Or maybe it's just closing Instagram after scrolling until 2 in the morning (hi, it's me, I did that last night...)
Whatever it is, share it in the comments below if you're comfortable doing so!
Not comfortable sharing? You can still participate!
You can:
Keep it vague (filling out a form on a computer, you can leave the word 'type' for example!)
Write the initials of what you're doing (for example: Writing out a form would be WOAF. Writing out a form? Wringing out a foil? No one will know exactly what it means except for you!)
or just leave an emoji! It can be related to what you're doing or not related at all but the important part is that YOU know what the emoji means!
This way we can cheer each other on! And not feel alone in being distracted or otherwise struggling to set-shift, or other such things!
Remember to keep this a non-judgmental space, and please do not offer advice unless you gain permission from a commenter to provide advice!
