Frustration
Added 2019-04-26 04:17:13 +0000 UTCLike most Patreon artists, I have long since come to terms with the fact that my work will be illegally uploaded to sharing sites. Unfortunate as it is, happens to everybody, and I accept that. I am also sympathetic to the idea that some people simply cannot afford to be patrons (although I do try to keep my price comparatively low).
What I cannot accept - and what has been particularly upsetting for me recently - is that my work is illegally distributed within mere hours of me posting it here. From what I can observe, this does not seem to happen to the same speed/degree to other similar artists and it is simply not fair to me. Or to you, who so generously give me your support.
Notably, I am now seeing people withdraw their pledges for the specified reason that my work is being shared so rapidly.
When I began his Patreon page, I was committed to the idea of keeping prices low and work readily available. I know that complicated schemes get on some people’s nerves. However, it seems now that I will be forced to think of ways to try and reduce the speed and ease with which my work is illegally shared relative to other artists.
I will not be raising prices.
However, I may have to shift old work off this page and on to gumtree, and perhaps distribute new work to patrons individually rather than as front page posts. I haven’t come to any decisions yet.
Regardless, I want to give a heartfelt thankyou to all of those who do continue to support me. It is greatly appreciated, and these wide bros would not exist without you.

It's weird how some content creators (like Hotcha) seem to get off without their work being shared quickly/at all, but others have it shared so widely. It definitely sucks, but I guess it's also a compliment? Hope you can figure something out that works for you!

I and many others will do our best to keep supporting you and hopefully this frustration doesn't cause you to do anything drastic. You're the 2nd artist on my patreon feed today to mention this problem.

Even if your stuff is out there other places, the whole point of Patreon is to show appreciation for artists and ensure that they have the resources to keep creating. Whoever is stealing the work and reposting it is a shitbag. They have no respect for art or the creators.

2019-04-26 06:28:52 +0000 UTCWhat some patreon artists do now is post a single image and only share variants/share the full set by PMing their patrons with a Dropbox link with the rewards AFTER the end of the month, so for sure you get paid and only the loyal patrons receive the full artworks!

I dunno about other people, but I became a sub entirely because I found your stuff on an upload site and liked it.
