Top Secret Announcement - Keep the following under wraps!

I'm proud to announce to you guys that my next project is a pilot episode of Falcomaster3000, based on that opening animation I made a year ago. If successful, it will be a full series, though quite short (7-8 episodes?).

Although I'm dying to continue Gildedguy's tale, I must give this project a fair attempt. I've been thinking about it for months, and the idea of an e-sports drama/visual novel/rhythm game fills me with excitement. Even since the creation of the Patreon page I've had FM3K in mind.

I've been animating Gildedguy's adventures for over 2 years now, so a short hiatus will do wonders to recharge my "stick man creativity."

Just know that I will continue Gildedguy's story in the future, for there is plenty left to tell.

About FM3K

A masked player with all the best techniques is forced back in time and must compete with the pros to save Smash Bros from a meta-gaming apocalypse.

Sounds kind of zany doesn't it? Even if you're not big into gaming, don't worry. I intend to create my own take on the "world of e-sports" in an  whimsical, immersive way. It'll take inspirations from modern gaming, as well as the nostalgia of backyard gaming (think rock-paper-scissors).

The actual medium is going to be a bit unorthodox:

"Kinetic Novel with Rhythm Game Segments Sprinkled In."

It has to be a kinetic novel (aka, a visual novel, but with no branching story-line) since I intend to animate and write the story myself. So expect two person dialogues, and some point-n-click exploration during narrative segments.

The interactive part will involve rhythm game-play, featuring music-sync'd visuals and challenges. These segments will act as climaxes and important plot points to ratchet up the action!

So instead of an animation you watch, this will be a graphic novel that you play. But if you're away from a computer (I'm not targeting mobile devices right now), I'll record a full play through of the episode so you can watch it on YouTube.

Since I emphasize story-telling more than story-playing, watching will be nearly the same experience. I'm shooting for 15-20 minutes per episode.

Current Status

I have a good idea of the overall story, main characters, and themes. Draft 1 of the script is 14 pages in, and I'm currently wracking my brain programming the rhythm game-play.

I've streamed some development of FM3K on Twitch, but my computer is a bit slow, and broadcasting causes the game to lag. An issue I'll iron out soon.

Is there interest from the Patrons to receive test-builds of the game? I'd love to hear what you think. Maybe I'll set up a poll.

I'm fully committed to seeing this idea through. I really hope you all enjoy it when it comes out.
