I am very pleased with how this one came out, as I was nervous about doing another "night time" setting with an event that is usually reserved for day time: BBQ & grilling!
There is something about moonlit farms that really fascinate me. It may be their serenity, or the scenery's colors. Whatever it is, I've always wanted to depict such a scene.
Drawing food is something I don't do often, but when I do do it, it is quite satisfying. Food is one of the most complexly lighted and textured objects of our everyday life. I remember seeing a "behind the scenes" of Pixar's Ratatouille. The artists spent a big chunk of time perfecting the materials that made up the 3D food models. I tried my best to capture the goopy, tender, yet charred and crispy appearance of BBQ ribs.
