I can never hear Mozart's Requiem the same way again after having sung it as part of the choir for a concert. After rehearsing it for so long I can hear the parts for each section in my head and hearing it in unexpected places like this where I forgot it was here triggers all the memories from that time of my life.

It feels great to realize that these guys have been holding back the whole time and yet are still known as the scariest criminals around lol.

His personality is shown so sentimental and gentle in this scene with Neon, mourning Uvo's death, and his voice is so calm and gentle all the time it's easy to forget who he is. Such a beautiful episode. Gets more amazing with each rewatch

The patron had commissioned it for his late wife, but out of all the pieces of music to die while composing, it just had to be a requiem. Most of Lacrimosa was done by his student too. If I remember correctly, only the beginning was fully composed by Mozart.

2024-02-06 03:12:17 +0000 UTCYeah, this is easily my favorite episode yet. Everything from the Chrollo/Neon conversation onwards is amazing. That conversation is really our first proper introduction to Chrollo as a character, and it does not disappoint. Seeing him shed a tear when the fortune confirmed Uvo’s death is surprisingly impactful, despite knowing the kind of people they are. Uvo’s Requiem is also just perfectly done. The music adds so much to the scene as well. The music that plays before Chrollo begins conducting being Lacrimosa from Mozart’s Requiem fits perfectly. Then to continue the requiem into the credits on top of everything else was the perfect way to end the episode.

It was actually finished by his student because Mozart died before finishing it. While it was a commission by some patron, rumors spread that he wrote this Requiem for his own death.
