Maybe I can be the language translator person this time: Sein = literally the verb "to be" or the state of being, if it’s used as a noun. If I was to be poetic about it it could refer to him being stuck in his existence. He just is, nothing else. Or something

Anna Lena Ciplajevs

I wish I had a friend like Goodwin irl

Jasmine Tea Enjoyer

You remind me of a close friend

He explained in another comment asking the same that he accidentally made this one available to all tiers. So technically, this is coming out ahead of those for you on accident.

Fizzle

i tried, i only see eps 1-8 and then it jumps to ep 13 for some reason

Sulphys

Hope you watch it 🔥 The story is so well done and the cinematography is insane. It takes place 20 years after fallout 3

Seth

Go to "Collections">"Frieren" They're all there

macrowave

IMO it's a good show if your not a fallout fan. They really mess with the lore and I think it is Bethesda getting back at 1, 2, and new Vegas because those aren't their games.

Douglas Davis

My buddy and I bought Fallout 3 when we were 14 because we heard that “the game started with you being born out of a woman’s vagina” and we were sold 😭

Hey do you have episodes 10+ somewhere in the patreon? can't find them

Sulphys

In multiplayer games, I almost always prefer playing healer or tank, but usually healer, so I was kinda hoping for someone more like Kraft the elf rather than Sein, but he does have his redeeming qualities. I would imagine Alex would play a ranger/hunter/utility-damage character, but I could be off. Somehow I'm thinking the glass cannon type would not work, but maybe melee.

Ryan

Word. Considering his style of analysis and drawing parallels re zero would be a good addition too.

KamyJay

HxH x3 and Frieren x2 every week is what I call "peak reaction content"

Rekway

Thank you!

Alex G

Haha the scanning fans coming out in force :D I'm glad that it's something people enjoy

Alex G

I love to scan! Whenever I play a game in the "Tales Of" franchise, I buy a crap load of magic lenses for scanning enemies. 🤣

Merfhew

Fair enough! Also wanted to say that amongst all my irl friends who have watched anime or youtubers that I follow, you have the best understanding of the characters and i really appreciate the effort and thought you put into it! Keep doing you.

KamyJay

Right now there's no concrete schedule but set number of videos, currently 3 HxH and 2 Frieren. First tier is on the same schedule as YouTube which for a variety of reasons has fallen several weeks behind the Patreon schedule.

Alex G

Oh got it. I was wondering because the uploads for hxh are from a while ago. So I was wondering if something was wrong with my patreon app. Is there a schedule posted for uploads?

KamyJay

Ah looks like I made this episode available to all tiers. So future preview I guess

Alex G

Was the last upload not ep 8? This one is titled ep 13.

Unfortunately I got Tifa. As much as I wanted Barret, I somehow kept managing to accidentally make all the correct decisions for the Tifa one. Jokes aside, I've been meaning to watch all the other dates, since you can have one for every party member I believe, though Cid, Vincent, and Cait Sith are all one date apparently. Also, Cid and Vincent aren’t playable in this one, likely since you get them pretty late in this part, but I’m excited to try them in part 3.

Oak

That's great to hear. It'll take a while but maybe I'll wait until they're all out to play them. I never really thought about it back then but in hindsight the original game went out of their way with the mini games and set pieces (motorcycle, snowboarding, chobobo racing, etc) so glad to know that's in there. But most importantly, who did you choose for your blind saucer date and why was it Barrett?

Alex G

Honestly it was amazing. The first part was limited to the Midgar section, and took maybe 25-30 hours casually, but part 2 took me like 120, though I do take my time with games. All the areas were stunning, Junon or Cosmo Canyon or the Gold Saucer were probably my favorite. And my god the minigames. It had an absurd amount, even by JRPG standards. They also added a highly addictive trading card game that I probably spent at least 15 of my 120 hours playing. It’s certainly a time investment, but I don’t regret my time at all.

Oak

Haha I had a feeling! I also wonder sometimes if it's the developers saying "look at all the effort we put into the enemies for you! You're gonna pay attention." How was the remake btw? I haven't heard much and still haven't played part 1

Alex G

I finished the second part of the FF7 remake a little while ago, and I can confirm RPGs are still obsessed with scanning everything. Each region had a side quest that required you to scan basically every enemy, which would usually give you a good materia. When I beat the game it showed a giant stats screen, and it turns out I’d managed to scan all but 2 enemies in the entire game. One being a specific phase of a boss that apparently needed to be scanned separately, and I genuinely have no idea what the last one is. Anyway, I LOVE SCANNING so I left a like. All you fellow scanners out there better be liking the video.

Oak

Those are all great points. Regarding number 3, after some time is passed you start to become the biggest defender of why you couldn't / shouldn't, even if the initial reasons are no longer valid

Alex G

This would be a great first live action for the channel, especially if you're a fan of the third game!

Don't belittle Scan. It tells you how much HP the enemy has so you can get him low enough (around 5-10%) to eat him/ card-ify/ elixir-ify them. It also tells you what attacks they have so you can wait for your Blue Mage to get hit and learn the move. And, of course, what items they have, so you can spend the next 15' trying to steal the rare dagger and silk thunder resistant vest before the first serious boss. To be fair, as his little brother (who's a child)'s guardian, he doesn't need to ask him. He should do what he thinks is best for him. Sein didn't set out for three reasons, all working simultaneously and in support of one another, and all of them really bad.. (1) He believes his brother gave up a successful and prestigious career for him. So, seeing his brother as a martyr, he tries to do the same and punish himself the same way. (2) Since his friend is seven years late in returning, there's a chance he is dead. But unless he seeks out the truth, there's also the chance that he's alive. Ignorance is bliss, Schrödinger's cat. He probably thinks that not knowing is better. (3) He is also afraid that if he goes out, and if he enjoys the adventurer's life, then he will look back and think "I wasted my life being afraid, I was so wrong". Regretting lost time is a really strong emotion and people prefer to say "This status quo is fine" instead of trying to change things which might reveal that they have been living wrong all along. Being confronted with the fact that the past 10 years of your life you were living wrong could shake your foundational self and could break a person. The "I'm talking about the present" is obviously a counter to (3) above specifically. "It is never too late".

Arakis

First I'm hearing about it but sounds interesting. I liked Fallout 3 a lot

Alex G

Have you thought about reacting to the new Fallout show? It’s by far the best non/anime show I’ve seen in many years, and everyone’s been picking it up
