My Hero Academia 7x5 Reaction Extended (YT link below)

I wonder about Spinner... Like, to me, he seems like a follower. He was inspired by Stain, went out there to emulate him, joined the League because he thought they were affiliated with Stain, then realized they weren't, but he still had found a group where he felt accepted, so he stuck around. And then he was inspired by Shigaraki and decided to follow him. Only for Shigaraki to be taken over by AfO. And now he's just kinda stuck. Like, I don't even think that for him it's about the discrimination anymore? Probably his motivation at first, and I'm sure he still cares about that on some level, but it doesn't feel like that's why he's doing it now? To me, it looks like he's doing what he's told will help Shigaraki, even though he's not even certain Shigaraki is still in there. It just feels like both him and Toga have their backs against the wall and Dabi is the only one who is fine with things because he will get his revenge regardless of who is in charge, AfO or Shigaraki. Meanwhile, the other two have been relegated to being AfO's minions/chess pieces without meaning to, when really, they are here because AfO has taken over the remenants of the only thing they had left (the League of Villains) and there is nowhere else for them to go. So they are going along with it, but in Spinner's case, it seems to be to see Shigaraki's vision of total destruction come to fruition for him, and Toga looks like she's out for revenge now that she's lost most of the people she cares about and has been rejected by Uraraka. I kinda just feel sad for those two, while also dreading the damage they are going to do.

I think it's incredibly valuable for people to be able to pause and seriously consider the bigger questions Alex brought up in the middle of this episode in a lower stakes context like fiction because, obviously, the questions and problems aren't fictional at all. There are all sorts of acts that are not "forgivable" or "excusable" committed by individuals, groups, or whole nations. As soon as we bring up any historical reality (really take your pick of nation or issue), these are the key questions, and boy are we awful at discussing them or even coming to grips with their scope.

I always assumed they're people with quirks that give them animalistic traits. Nezu is basically the opposite. Atleast he's the only one explicitly to be an animal with a quirk to my knowledge. Which does make one question why?

Id assume legal rights in this world are granted to any beings of a high enough level of sentience, just based on how many animal “people” we’ve seen. Like the police chief of Hosu being a dog, Detective Sansa being a cat/person hybrid, etc and whatnot.

The whole thing with nezu being an actual animal with a quirk that makes him smart like a person is a concept they really haven't that much deeper into. Like is he the only one like that and what does not being a "human" mean about his legal rights and other such. Seems like an interesting well to dig into that they've left undug so far

I've read both mangas, have watched this episode twice now, and it was only on this watch that I made the connection! I really hope Vigilantes gets an adaptation. I'd love to see it here on the channel!

Todoroki's favorite food is actually super cold soba, so Bakugo's comment about Toya liking piping hot udon hits a lot harder than it might seem at first. It's just another reminder of how much Bakugo has grown, especially his relationship with todoroki.

So first off, the final battle has begun! The timing of it all was perfect because the same week this episode premiered in Japan, the final battle comes to an end in the manga. 80+ chapters, longest arc in the story. Get ready for the fighting that’s going to continue into next season! As for who All for One got his lie detection quirk from, it’s most likely a descendant of Detective Tsukauchi. Because in the spin off Vigilantes we meet his sister who has a similar quirk. So by that logic along with All for One’s dialogue, we come to that conclusion.
