"One idea I've heard that I like is the opposite of love isn't hate, it's indifference" I see JJK(Jumpei) didn't just borrow from HxH, it borrowed from AGoodwin's reactions to HxH lmao. Though I guess Jumpei followed up by saying you should go to hell for that take... If only Yuji channeled his love of film into starting a reaction channel, he could have found peace after getting flamed in the comments

2024-07-06 06:48:03 +0000 UTCThis is, alongside many other, one of my most favorite epβs in the entire show. I simply love that Knuckle-Shoot interaction, itβs somewhat so bizarre yet so true. Never saw a show exploring that pride thing to this extend with the short monologues, narrator and their resolve. Like most men can highkey relate about Knuckle trying to take revenge on youpi for Shoot and Shoot, even whilst being the more rational guy, still betting on Knuckle to get revenge for him/his pride & then we get blasted by the narrator for misjudgment of the situation. Sometimes thereβs more important things than the world π¬

2024-07-06 06:47:55 +0000 UTCThe last word in the title, "setsujoku" (ιͺθΎ±, or what was subtitled as "payback"), is tough to translate, but it comes from the idea that being insulted, especially being hurt from an insult, is a form of almost spiritual staining. (It's called 'kegare' or "uncleanness" in Shintoism) It's as if you're constantly dirty, and in order to become whole again, you need to cleanse yourself of that insult. So, the word "setsujoku" really refers to that action: cleansing yourself of the insult. As you pointed out, there are interesting comparisons between Knuckle/Shoot and Yuupi there, with the ways their egos and bodies were hurt, and their proposed solutions. Knuckle/Shoot can't get over their ego, whereas Yuupi decides that his ego must be destroyed like the intruders, and so on. (Anyway, on a completely unrelated note, does that first reaction video still exist? I'm really having trouble imagining it)

2024-07-06 02:47:56 +0000 UTCMe: βMan, Iβm glad I was able to catch an earlier train. It ended up saving me a lot of time.β Narrator: βUnbeknownst to him, the decision to take an earlier train would cause an unexpected tragedy at an unknown date in the future. Also, had he taken the original train, he would have met the love of his life, but now that will never happen, because he made the unwise decision to take an earlier train.β
