I feel your love for Morel comes from a similar place as your love for Todo. Morel is based off of someone else, but it’s hard not to see the similarity.

So while he can likely beat the hell out of Morel, it might be difficult for Pouf to quickly kill him, similar to how Genthru couldn’t KO Gon in Greed Island with just punches and kicks despite being stronger.

I mean like come on, this dude does a 100 KM marathon every year for the opportunity to give newbies diarrhea.

Basically it’s the same reason the Phantom Troupe wouldn’t kill Kurapika while Chrollo had chains in him. Phinks’ explanation was something like, nen with a strong will or intentions behind it can not only persist, but amplify in strength after death. If Pouf couldn't break the smoke then, think about how strong that smoke would be if Morel was killed.
