some people oversimplify this arc as just being nihilistic on humans but, as i’m sure you’ve picked up on, it goes much deeper. especially since the ants, as the “others”, were actually derived from humans and we get to see the good and bad qualities of humanity shine through.

2024-07-25 05:39:48 +0000 UTCYoupi isn’t becoming a demon becuase the king ordered it like knov said. He feels profoundly betrayed. After his honorable matches with the gang he was coming to respect humanity to at least some degree but seeing the person he cares about most possibly killed in such a cheap way, A way that could be considered cheating if you care about honor, that respect he was developing has turned to hatred and mistrust

Also, the King absolutely lost so damn hard. The ego moments from Netero weren’t solely ego, but also pure truth, an insect cannot imagine how dark/deep humanity can sink.

2024-07-25 04:03:34 +0000 UTCJust as with episodes 125 and 126, it's often suggested to watch 130 and 131 together also.

2024-07-25 03:45:11 +0000 UTCSpeaking of nukes, I heard an interesting comment recently that the fact that they were invented means they could get invented so it is good that they were so we could subvert the bad effects, get the good tech from them(nuclear power), and you could also argue that mutually assured destruction has done more for world peace then anything else. kind of a ramble but i thought it was interesting.

2024-07-25 02:35:16 +0000 UTCYeah, the start of this episode isn’t exactly subtle. The narrator mentions terrorists used the rose to bomb a capital, which killed 110,000 people. 110,000 is also the low estimate for the total number of deaths in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which I doubt is a coincidence. Also, Genthru of the bombers back in Greed Island seems to have referenced the rose in one of his abilities, “Little Flower”.

2024-07-25 02:27:22 +0000 UTCI think the rose cloud is meant to be a way to link this bomb with a real bomb from the our world that leaves a distinctive cloud shape in it's wake - a mushroom could

2024-07-25 01:53:25 +0000 UTCI like how the potential of humanity isn't potrayed as this hopeful or heroic thing, it's instead demonic
