heh that scene does feel very evangelion, pained "demo" over and over, rapid cuts... If only Gon sat down on a chair instead of the ground

2024-08-07 19:52:15 +0000 UTCThis is one of my favourite shows overall but I think I can objectively say that..I agree somewhat. I always found the chimera arc, in the anime, to be not very well paced. The manga has PAGES upon PAGES of text with only a few small fight scenes in them and it works because you can read them at your own pace, I always thought it didn't translate particularly well to the anime with how heavily it relies on the narrator and makes the pacing very slow. That being said, this particular episode I don't think is really guilty of stretching too long, while others absolutely could have been condensed in my opinion.

2024-08-06 03:43:09 +0000 UTCWhile the entire scene is amazing and overall an incredible display of raw grief, the part that stood out the most to me was the instant switch to “there’s a chance!” or “it wasn’t real!”. It’s true for anyone, but for someone Gon’s age it hits very close to home. I had an uncle pass away when I was 10 that I was very close with, and losing someone close at that age, coupled with it being a first experience, almost always leads to many of those moments.

2024-08-04 06:22:33 +0000 UTCI agree that it's drawn out, but with Hunter x Hunter at least, I feel that's because the author / director really wanted to focus on all of the character choices such that people really have to deal with the fact that protagonist / "ant-agonist" distinctions are blurred and we're made to look at the questions raised by the scenario. For some people, it might be overdoing it, but I personally don't get the feeling that this content is lingered on just to pad time.

Did you catch how people were mad at Ufotable for the recent season of Demon Slayer? The whole season could've been down to 5 episodes, but they wanted to drag it out so as not to get into the actual fighting.

2024-08-02 03:25:18 +0000 UTCThat's why i love Pitou just like the other royal guards and the king sometimes she feels very human, she got tricked by puff, even tho she could attack gon before she respect him for what he done, she grow throught the arc before she was more thrill seeking did'nt care too much about the others only the king, but know she has a set of more complex emotions. Also i love the silence used before the sad bgm started, just the silence with Gon's heavy breathing was such a nice touch, is fun to see all the build up of Gon's personality and his world view coming crashing down on the end. And yes is very Shinji Ikari coded this part and i love it!
