The idea that one approach is more valid than the other, while perhaps true, I feel is often co opted as a way to gain leverage in engagements one otherwise wouldn’t be able to handle.

Clearly, I'm still not over Alex talking about "not trusting data" and so on, even though it's so long ago I'm not even sure what the context was, or even if it was HxH, haha. But yeah, that's what came to mind when Alex started referring to evidence from empirical studies. Logically, I understand that my disagreement is probably just an issue of narrow semantics, about having necessary skepticism of the *interpretations* of data and the measurement process, but being honest, I just want to be like... "is that not data? Why is that very abstract data interpretation acceptable?" ... but at the same time I'm aware of how petty it is to fixate on that when the whole episode / series contains much more that I value and like. Anyway, thinking about emotion vs logic is a rollercoaster, and that's now when I'm sober 😄

Gon left Greed Island expecting to finally meet his father, only for that to not only not be the case, but for it to spiral into an arc that lasts almost half the show. While it’s become a bit of a meme, it’s not hard to see why so many took inspiration from HxH, even if it’s over attributed sometimes lol.
