Added 2024-08-29 23:52:55 +0000 UTCFirstly, thank you for all your suggestions a while back about future shows to watch! It was a great mix of those I've wanted to watch for some time, as well as some I wasn't aware of (and also shows I've seen, it's time to finally make that list).

I've been kind of stuck on how to do the next poll for a bit so I came up with the perfect solution:
Kick the can down the road! (That's a problem for future Alex. I don't envy that guy).
After a lot of waffling, what I decided to do is just start Re:Zero next and then figure out another show to replace Hunter x Hunter when it ends in... sigh... 2 weeks.
Since I probably won't be able to film anymore for this week, I'm going to post a 4th episode of Hunter x Hunter, and start posting Re:Zero next week, at 2 episodes per week.
In the very near future, I will launch a poll for the following show.

I've never really understood why they feel so strongly, as there's very little difference. I wonder why the original version was taken off Crunchyroll. That's very weird.

I saw another comment mention the whole directors cut fiasco, and yeah, for some reason crunchyroll removed the regular version of S1 and just has the directors cut. Up to you which version you watch tbh. Both have pros and cons over the other. But honestly I’m just excited for you to start my fav story ever. Plus, S3 this October, so perfect timing.

Very happy you are beginning the journey down Isekai anime but I wish it begun with the story that actually invented the isekai subgenre itself... and it's a peak adaptation. Re:Zero is a super fun show though and I can't wait to watch your reactions to it. It's unlike anything you've watched on the channel thus far.

It would be a fun departure to some solid western animation for a second and it's pretty short. That or some other slower more... cerebral(?) show like we had with S2 of Vinland Saga or March Comes in like a Lion. I love hearing your commentary on shows like that

It also has a more flexible rating system (over at MAL, you're stuck using the 10 pt system with no decimals. Anilist lets you choose from a 3pt smile system, a 5 star system, 10 pt with or without decimals or a 100pt scale) if you want to rate the shows you've watched.

It's mostly the same stuff, with the only real difference being the combined episodes, as well as an OVA thrown in the middle of the season to be in chronological order. Definitely don't skip that!!!!

Could help easily keep track of what shows you are currently watching, have already watched, etc., especially as the amount of shows you watch grows. It won't help much for non-anime shows like Arcane but if you really needed to you could keep a separate list for those since they are not as numerous. It can also help keep track of shows you want to watch (they always have a "plan to watch" section) so you don't forget about shows. They also have a notes or comments section on each show that you can use to maybe write down which shows have high demand for reactions.

2024-08-30 00:07:18 +0000 UTCDo you plan on watching the directors cut of rezero season 1? For some reason that is the only version on Crunchyroll now, but the regular season 1 is only available on pirates. The directors cut combines 2 episodes in one, so it's a big difference in pace

2024-08-30 00:00:49 +0000 UTCI highly HIGHLY reccomend Yu Yu Hakusho. It's a classic that set themes of Shonen till this day and inspired creators after. It has a classic dub that arguably improves the main cast due to subbing not being great. And is the anime that was right before Hunter Hunter from the same creator. So it's sorta like watching a prequal work.
