Pfft, that summary had me grinning like a lunatic, haha! Where's the lie though? Fantastic Finale for S7, which has overall been pretty incredible. You have a point though, about going from one war arc basically straight to the next. MHA is similar to KnY in that regard, it feels really streamlined even though I love it so much, I totally would have been fine with more downtime or taking things more slowly. I wonder if this was always the plan, coz it does make sense that things would so rapidly escalate/deteriorate, but as a reader I did kinda feel overwhelmed and like I needed a bit of a break between wars, so maybe Horikoshi's declining health was a large factor in things moving so quickly here at the end. But either way, he's really bringing his A-Game to this Endgame! Toga-Ochako especially hit home, but everything else was very satisfying as well. Iron All Might came in like a freight train, I also wasn't expecting that, but it was so awesome! I have to confess I was a lot like Tsukauichi, terrified AM would get slaughtered and pleasantly surprised at how well he held his own. But what really does it for me is him using Shoot Style! Him using all their quirks already had me going, but that one was the icing on top! I love it so much! I'm also really glad the Anime team seems all in again. S7 felt a lot like the early seasons in that regard, and I've missed that. Can't wait to see your reaction to S8, but hey, there's always the fourth movie for now, right? ;)

2024-10-31 12:37:15 +0000 UTCSo when this season was being set up, the manga was still running. I think we were at 422 right after the season started and it ended on 430. So I feel they made this season shorter so they can do a full one cour season 8. Otherwise, it would have been difficult. Even where they cut it, we probably will need expanded fights and anine expanded moments next year. It was probably either end here or end in toga vs Ochako.

2024-10-30 04:08:02 +0000 UTCI can’t imagine how cathartic Chris Sabat must have felt voicing All Might’s last Hura, he’s mentioned several times that All Might’s his favourite characters he’s voiced and that he resonates with him the most and the line by All Might in this episode about him being in his 50s must have resonated with Chris since he’s in his 50’s now.

It looked like that one hit literally shaved off like 5-10 years. Cinema. Also, can't get over how well this fight gets across how much his class, but especially Deku has inspired him. I mean, when AFO and All Might fought back in season 3, AFO says "Using your wits? That is SO unlike you!" just in response to him shifting his power from one side of his body to the other. But the way he's chaining all these "quirks" together and spouting off analysis of how AFO fights is SUCH a Deku thing to do.

2024-10-30 02:31:30 +0000 UTCManaged to catch up just in time for your episode, and they decide to leave us with the absolute cruelest cliffhanger of the series. This season has been such a joy for me from start to finish. Back when these chapters were coming out, I temporarily stopped reading a little after the Bakugo fight. The chapters at the time were really short, like 10 pages each, and 10 pages a week was painful during constant intense battles lol. When it was wrapping up I binged the manga, and got a chance to properly enjoy this arc. I think they did a fantastic job of adapting this arc so far, and seeing everything come together has made me really appreciate it. That aside, the visuals and soundtrack this season had a huge impact, especially the soundtrack for me. These last three episodes in particular feel like the best trilogy of episodes of the series. The final season can’t come soon enough, but also let it take a while so I don’t have to say goodbye just yet.

It really elevated both moments for me (which is saying something because they were already huge highlights in the manga). From the orchestral remix of the ending song to the choir insert featured in the All Might memories/flashback scene. So good! Studio Bones nailed this season and I can't wait to see how they adapt the conclusion. Btw, loved the commentary this season. Looking forward to the My Hero Academia: You're Next movie reaction whenever that gets a digital release.

But yeah I totally agree, it's already in my view (assuming a reasonable landing in the final season) about as close to a perfect work as you can get, and one of the highest reaching. There's nothing else I would ask for (except another school festival)

On top of that, the suit was made to order or a rush order. So everything he’s using here, including the car, is an untested prototype. This type of suit is the practically the first of its kind.

2024-10-30 01:05:55 +0000 UTCAnd so concludes the penultimate season of MHA. It was an intense ride, and it will still be when it returns. We were going to get a brutal cliffhanger no matter what. Next season, the rest of All Might vs AfO round 3 and the final battle between Deku & Shigaraki. Plus other stuff I will not mention. This season covered exactly six volumes from start to finish, and next season will adapt the remaining three. 32 chapters. So next season will only be a single cour, probably not coming out till the fall at the latest. In the meantime, you’ll have the fourth movie to watch before that.
