[LOST AUDIO] Your Dying Boyfriend in the Hospital

Monologue I wanted to do for a while but never got a chance to do it. It was an idea I had for a short movie, but, unfortunately you're going to hear the ending. However, I will give a condensed summary of "my story" just so you know what I had planned. © 

A man by the name Brent Ekko is having a bad romantic life. He is the typical player and he tends to "forget" all the women he's been with and almost tosses them to the side. So one day, he meets a beautiful waitress, her name, Ashley Gwenn. They're two single young people just enjoying a nice Saturday morning at the diner she works at. He sees her and immediately, it's like she was plucked right out of his dreams and into reality. She was beautiful. She has green eyes, a pearly white smile, long, flowing dirty-blonde hair, and a voice that sounds like she should be on Broadway. She takes his order and they chit-chat for a bit here and there. After finishing his meal, he asks her out and his charm got her to say yes to a date when she gets off work. They go on a date and immediately hit it off. Maybe his charm worked too well and they end up sleeping together on the first date. In the morning, he awakes to not see her there. For the first time, he is shocked to see a woman NOT there. A little hurt (just a little) he goes to see her again but before he does, he realizes the calendar reads Saturday (yesterday). [From here it becomes similar to Groundhog Day]. Everything that happened Saturday, happens exactly the same time; the signs, the cars, the noises, even the people in the diner he goes to again. To his disbelief, she doesn't remember him. He asks her if she remembers anything and makes the mistake of asking if she remembers them having sex, to which she replies by slapping him in the face. (next "day" the same thing) 

At this point, he is trying to figure out how this is happening. So he tries again, same events, but he doesn't make the mistake and asks her out again, she says yes, and they go on a different date and have sex yet again. (This plays out for almost the rest of the short and everyday it's a new date) However at this point, he is catching feelings and falling in love and he is frustrated that she keeps forgetting him and why he has to repeat the same day. He sees his local shrink and gets advice. The shrink thinks he is crazy, and gives him a smart-ass response. Realizing that his shrink was no help, he suddenly comes up with an idea; Don't sleep. It works because the next day events change and she remembers him. Thinking he broke "the spell" he falls asleep that day; however, it reverts back to Saturday with the same events. So he decides to not sleep, until he proves to himself he is capable of love and not just using women for sex. So he does the same thing, and for the next 10 days, it's dates, and love, and it's magical. However, it takes a toll on him (the human body can roughly go without sleep for about 11 days before dying of sleep deprivation). So this monologue takes place, on the 11th day, his last

day, in the hospital. ©©©
