Martwiec or Perełysnek - is a red vampire living in Polesie (Poland) and Ukraine. This creature feeds on human blood. He arose from a deceased whose family mourned too long and too intensely, thus not allowing his soul to go to the afterlife. At night, the deceased rose from the grave, spread his membranous wings, soared into the sky and ew over villages in search of victims. The vampire was famous for his inhuman strength, but he was usually tricky and cowardly.
