Call of the Void (Tharja, Fire Emblem)
Added 2022-03-09 02:40:25 +0000 UTCI tried a bunch of different things with this, but ultimately settled on a stronger "graphic design" focus. From the WIP, I changed it from an indoor scene to an outdoor one. Tharja approaching under a full moon and removing her cloak -- what else might she remove? 👀
I'm also proud to say that I finally looked up how to use clipping masks and made use of one, lol. There's a gradient of dark blue that starts at the bottom of the figure and fades as it rises, and it doesn't affect the background at all.
Overall, I feel like this moves closer to an art style I'm comfortable with! I'd been pushing myself with the past few pieces to render in a softer and (for me) more realistic style, but I've missed focusing more on simplicity and pure aesthetic. Hopefully you guys like this style as well!
