Added 2025-01-17 23:04:39 +0000 UTCStill trying to achieve some cool stuff with painting, so I went back to an old original character, the bloodwing devil! I feel like this is the best version of her I've done yet, and the best painting I've done yet, but I still haven't gotten this style to where I want it. A lot of what's missing now is a focus on planes/forms and more clearly defined brushstrokes, but I'll get there yet if I keep practicing.
I probably won't use the painterly style for any straight-up smut, but I think it works well for artistic nudity like this. I feel like it's also forcing me to think more about light and how it wraps around forms, which will be useful even for the basic cel-shading that I do.

Absolutely loving all of the play with the harsher lighting sources in the paintings you've been doing lately. The texture on the nips and the armpit stubble-schmutz are such great touches. The coloring choices on her hands and arms and claws is absolutely wonderful in a piece already filled with great stuff. Entirely less coherently: THIGH. CHUB.
