2023-01-19 20:57:41 +0000 UTCMy best would be great films but not necessarily reaction-worthy. So here are few that might work. Galaxy Quest. 1999 The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. 2011 Wizards 1977 Life of Brian 1979

2023-01-19 06:08:18 +0000 UTC7 - "7 Days in Hell" - a perfect sports documentary. A fascinating look at one of the most grueling tennis match in history. You definitely don't have to be a sports fan to enjoy it - I am, but not at all a tennis fan; it's just a great movie. Highly recommended. Great, great characters, really fascinating story... but again, it's a movie nobody seems to have heard of, and something tells me you are incredibly unlikely to watch a sports movie, much less a sports movie nobody knows about. But I like it so much I'll recommend it anyway.

2023-01-19 06:07:54 +0000 UTCA few hidden gems: 6 - "Stretch" - a perfect Patrick Wilson vehicle (get it? Vehicle? He's a limo driver. Stretch. You get it.) A few other great actors in it; one is definitely a spoiler, I think, so I'll skip that. A great Jessica Alba performance; she doesn't do a ton but she's great with what she has (she may not be good enough to do more? I'm not sure if she's a great actress; it's hard to tell with the material she's gotten. Or at least that I've seen her in.) Stretch limo driver, has a bad day... I guess you can say it's a spiritual successor to Die Hard? In a way. It's just such a perfect Patrick Wilson role, and the other actor in it is *perfect*; the first time I'd seen him allowed to be really weird (similar to how Brad Pitt and Colin Farrell can be *so* interesting when they're not forced into a stereotypical leading man role). Nobody has heard of it but it's very good. I would kill to have you watch it, but mainly that's just because I have some personal issues I need to work out. Seriously though, I just don't imagine you'll ever get to a movie this unknown; even much more prolific reactors aren't ever going to watch "Stretch", I certainly don't expect you to, only doing one movie a month.

2023-01-19 06:07:48 +0000 UTC5 - "Lucky Number Slevin" - another great noir with a powerhouse cast: Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Lucy Liu. A few others that... not really spoilers, but w/e, spoiler adjacent? So I won't spoiler the whole cast. Excellent writing/dialogue as well; not quite as funny as KKBB, it's very clever/witty rather than outright funny. Still a very good movie though (obviously, else I wouldn't recommend it). I might like it better than KKBB, but KKBB is maybe a movie I'd feel safer recommending to you? I feel pretty confident you'd like both, but maybe slightly more confident in KKBB.

2023-01-19 06:07:36 +0000 UTC4 - "Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang" - excellent comedy noir starring RDJ and Val Kilmer. Incredible writing/dialogue. Very sharp, witty, funny dialogue; RDJ and Val Kilmer have a great dynamic. It's really fun, some fourth-wall breaking in a pretty unique way.

2023-01-19 06:07:29 +0000 UTC2 - "Mr Right" - Action RomCom with the romantic leads played by one of my favorite actors Sam Rockwell at his Rockwelliest. He's opposite Anna Kendrick, which is why I'm surprised this movie seems to have gone as unnoticed as it did. Kind of a spiritual successor to Grosse Pointe Blank (not a lot of Action RomComs). It's fun, Kendrick is the type of character you'd expect from her, Rockwell - as I previously mentioned - gets to be very Rockwell. It's a good time. A bit formulaic, maybe, as most RomComs are (even Action RomComs) but that's kind of the charm, isn't it? It doesn't necessarily surprise you, but it's comforting more than boring.

2023-01-19 06:07:13 +0000 UTC1 - "Walk Hard" - rockumentary on the life of Dewey Cox. Perfect casting, perfect writing, perfect music. Perfect movie. The cast is stacked and deep but John C Reilly still carries this movie, that's how good he is and how important he is to it; none of the rest would matter if he didn't nail every aspect of this role and he knocks it out of the park. It's crazy how much range and talent he displays; it's a comedy, so it's not crazy that he didn't get nominated for an award much less win, but my god, if you're not going to award Reilly for this performance, why even have acting awards?
