Beware of old Joss Whedon shows then. He used to love to make us happy just so he could use it to stab us in the heart. And somehow he made that very predictable pattern hard to predict.

(Flip side: I remember watching that episode of Umbrella Academy where everybody got to be happy... then it was all reversed at the end of the episode. Never watched another ep after that. I hate that. Let the people I like be happy, goddamn it.)
