DZ (Trial) Quest - Type
Added 2025-05-25 17:00:11 +0000 UTCSo, Ruby Canyon - Medium Difficulty has been selected! You're in for a challenge, but not an impossible one. Victory may well be within your grasp, SongsTress, so long as you put the work in!
And that leaves just one last question. Once we have this, I'll collate all of the votes, and put something together for the start of the Quest on Wednesday, alongside the story update. Namely:
What Type Of Desire Are You?
I mean, we know who you are and what you do! Singing, dancing, and performing in most corruptive ways are all in your remit. But how do you do it? That's an important question to determine the kinds of bonuses and abilities you have access to!
At current time, the Serenity Foundation has determined that there are three 'types' of Desires. Each kind has strengths and weaknesses that define how they operate. Getting a sneak peak in at the lore, here's how they work:
Sovereign Desires are powerful creatures that create Lairs - domains where their will corrupts reality itself. Sovereigns are very powerful within their territory, but are vastly weakened outside of it. The RingMistress was an example of this type of Desire!
Vizier Desires are subtle, sneaky creatures who corrupt from affair, and use stealth to try to avoid the attention of Serenities. They are masterminds capable of cunning schemes... But when caught, they have practically no defensive power at all, specializing in strong minions and traps instead. CyberHeat was an example of this type of Desire! (Alas, she has not been published yet at the time of writing this post!)
Vagrant Desires are wandering monsters. The most capable fighters amongst Desires, they can move fast and break a lot of things. Always on the move, these Desires tend to have the least control over their minions, being more 'transform and forget' than their rivals. CupidCutie was an example of this type of Desire!
So, who are you? Is all the world your stage, it just doesn't know it yet? Are you stalking the city in human form, only letting the song within out when you choose your moment? Or are you spreading your song far and wide, daring to take on all comers? The choice is yours!
