The Story So Far...

The dread is far too strong to ignore. You need to stop get from getting that brooch, by whatever means necessary. And fortunately, you have plenty of means available! You jump over the rooftop, spinning in the air with a graceful pirouette, before landing with one heel solidly on that disgusting white gem, voice already belting out.

"Freeze! No you don't take another step!

We've got a song to share, and you haven't started yet!"

It's a quick lyric, born off the top of your head, designed purely to stop this blonde in her tracks and hold her still while you work out what to do with her... But it's only after you sing it out that that you realise she didn't move to get her jewellery back at all.

Instead she pulled out her phone? The hell is she- Wait, no!

"STOP!"

You put your all into that single word, every note of power you've got, you see it hit her square on, see her body lock up, even her breathing cut out...

... But it's too late.

"SoS Alert received!" Her phone chirps. "Thank you for alerting us to the presence of a Desire! Please be aware that false alarms will be fined~!"

The Serenity App. Almost every phone has it - it's always been advertised as the thing to do when you sight a Desire, get to cover, alert the App. There was even an annoying jingle that went with it, one that you will not disgrace your mind by remembering now. Even your old self thought it was stupid - new you thinks it's an abomination.

The Serenities. Women given magical powers to fight monsters like you. The only thing capable of stopping you in your tracks. If they show up before you're ready, you're... well, you don't actually know what happens to defeated Desires. Too many rumours. But none of them ever show up again, so it's a fairly safe bet you won't make it to superstardom. One... One report won't mean that much, will it?

The blonde manages to pull in another breath, her body starting to twitch as she begins fighting off your command again. She still looks smug. Who the hell is this bitch?!

You know what? Doesn't matter. Who she was just became irrelevant. What matters is who you're going to make her into.

The power in you stirs. Your lair calls. You went all out to stop her, and now your soul wants its due. Can you put it off? Do you want to? Your rival isn't here, but does that even matter anymore? If you try, you're not guaranteed to succeed, and if you do, any use of your powers from here on out will cause it to happen anyway.
