(Quest Suggestions) SongsTress Quest Episode 20 - Let's Twist Again!

(Members of Star Tier or above can suggest actions for next week's episode, and they'll be voted on on Wednesday!)

(This week's vote: A tie! Oh dear. Not always a good thing...)

The Story So Far...

The gates slam down, the corridors twist, your lair shifts to your will. In the middle of it all, you dance and spin around on stage, basking in the thrum of your audience, delighting in their cheers, drinking in their adulation. There's nothing better than this. It's all you've ever wanted. And you're going to make it happen forever~

The Serenities tumble and stagger on your screens, caught between your minions, your twisting labyrinth, and your pitch perfect song. Right now they're running about trying to escape the maze of crashing gates and vanishing hallways you've lured them into. Oh, watching them fall is going to be amazing.

"Try to keep up girls~" You 'encourage' them with a wink, before launching into your next verse.

"Now I knooowww it's getting harder
'Cus you're really just that dumb
And your thoughts? They're non-starters!
They come from brains made of old chewed gum~"

Ahhh, you're pretty sure you just saw Scribe lose track of what she was doing again~~ Is her hair turning blonde? It might just be the light, but that green hair sure is looking yellow right now! Better give her another helping hand.

"Am I talking too fast?
Are my words just too quick?
The space between us is vast,
So I'll lay it out slick:"

A little pause, build up some tension, then pop it like a bubble.

"Keep it simple stupid."

The chorus line rolls through the building, hitting everyone that hears it between the ears. Eh, your fans don't need to be smart, they just need to scream your name.

"Just keep it simple stupid!"

A wave of blonde hair sweeps through the stadium.

"Oooh you're so simple stupid!"

Giggles and cheers fill every room - even the goths in the basement are giggling as they compose morbid poetry out of short words.

"It's just that simple, stupid~"

You gasp and dance in delight. The song isn't over, but man, you are enjoying this. Greatest performance of all time, just send every award directly to SongsTress~

Now, what did the Serenities think?

[Resistance Check: Difficulty 60 - 1d100]

(Difficulty = Base Attack score (20) + Curse of Verse Rank Bonus (20) + Volume Bonus (10) + Lair Bonus (10) = 60)

Serenity Dancer: 69! (Pass)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30) Roll: 39

Rgh. Still no luck with Dancer. She's swinging to her own rhythm right now, completely ignoring yours. It feels like you might be able to get to her eventually, but she'll probably need something else to weaken her first. Something to work on.

Serenity Scribe: 56 (Fail)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+0) + Rank 1 Serenity (+10) = +10) Roll: 46

Scribe, on the other hand, is getting with the program properly! Oh yes, gold is seeping up through her hair, from the roots and nearly to the tips! Her white Serenity top is looking tight, and she keeps chewing on her lip as she tries to remember how to spell basic words. At this point it looks like she's just stealing spellings from your posters. She's looking ready to pop!

(Serenity Scribe has gained the Debuff: Stupified, Rank 2! All of her skills have been degraded by 2 degrees for the rest of the battle.)

Serenity Painter: 124 (Critical Success)

(Bonuses: Base Resistance (+10) + Rank 2 Serenity (+20) = +30) Roll: 94

And... Painter is ignoring you. Ignoring you! Ignoring you?!? What the hell kind of music does this bitch listen to?!

(Serenity Painter has gained the Buff: Resistant to the Rhythm - she gains +10 to all music based resistance checks for the rest of the battle.)

Okay. Okay. Ignore her. The important part is - yes! Yes, you did it. They're separated. You cut them off at just the right moment, and sent them all down different pathways... Wait, all? You only meant to split them into two groups. Now you see two Serenities on their own, and... Where's the third?

Crap, which- How the hell did you lose track of Scribe?! That shouldn't be possible...

Well, Dancer is heading down towards... The Fanclub room? Wait, you were saving that for Painter. Where's she- The Dance studio? That was for Dancer! Damnit, everyone's all out of place!

Okay. Whatever. You're good at improvising, right? The third verse is almost upon you... What do you do now? Maybe it's time to focus on one Serenity and try to finish her off? The other two will probably get to move on in the meantime, but you can't be everywhere at once...

Your Character Sheet

(Once again, the choices are yours! Focus on a Serenity? Change up your tune? Stick with what you've got? Suggest what you'd like to see, and I'll put it to the Vote on Wednesday!)

Comments

Change the tune, have your minions focus on scribe and focus on dancer and painter

John Smith

Painter's in the dance studio? She must want to change her style up. Clearly you should focus on her before she gets a chance to do something stupid.
