While a send up of biopics in general and ironically influencing the future of most biopics to follow it is on some level modeled around Johnny Cash - I Walk the Line.
I had a fantastic time now rewatching this with you today. It really lifted my spirits.

I have no idea how this movie didn't win ALL the awards. As just a music biopic, it's perfect; a perfect lampooning of every music biopic that came before and since. The music is *incredible*, and eclectic too. And John C Reilly's performance was perfect. If it wasn't a comedy, he'd've won the Oscar for Best Actor, I'm convinced of it, but the academy just doesn't give a shit about comedies. Too bad.

I feel like the iconic quote from this movie that lives on, above all others, is "The wrong kid died!" But for my money, my favorite might be "You know who's got hands? THE DEVIL!"
