UPDATE 1.8.0

Hi guys.

The update is ready to be downloaded.

As mentioned earlier, we made many changes for the new version, you need to download a new launcher.


HYBRIDES

Now hybrids are available. They can be obtained by copulating the Human and the Sirians.
There are several variants of hybridization. The final result is influenced by the genes of the parent.

Example:
When breeding Human (European) with the Sirian, we can get several kinds of hybrids. But with the breeding of Human (African) with the Sirian, the end result will be different.
Also, we get a new result during breeding Human or Sirian with hybrids.


COLONISTS

Hybrids will inherit the skills of their parents. But the basic skills are transferred from the parent, whose gene is stronger.

Hybrids consume food in the amount to which species their genes are closer.

Example:
If the hybrid is closer to the Human species, then it will consume food as a Human.


FREAKS

In addition to hybrids, there can now be colonists with biological and genetic abnormalities that can not participate in the life of the colony.
They are not adapted to work and their genes are dangerous for further development and spread.

You can sell them to Monk, a trader on the black market. But because of their unfitness, they are very cheap.

Conditions for the appearance of the freak are unknown. This is a genetic error in the reproduction of different species of Humans, Sirians and Hybrids.

ATTENTION!
Freaks are very hungry and can cause great damage to your colony.


FILTERS

The system of displaying the colonists is changing.

Because of the appearance of hybrids, they can not be classified, so we have made big changes in the tuning of the race.

Now you can filter the colonists by genes, level, professions and their employment (training, work).
I draw your attention to the level filter. It filters both the smaller (<) and the larger (>) side of the given level.
These filters can work either individually or in a group.


TRADE

Hybrids can not be bought on the territory of the colony. They can only be obtained by breeding various species.

But you can sell Hybrids and Freaks from a Monk dealer on the black market.
Rourke can not buy from you a Hybrid because it trades only as colonists of the Human or Syrian race.

Changes have been made in the system of breeding, food consumption, pregnancy, and others for the correct work of the colony.

Breeding.
Added to the colonists fatigue. The more sexual acts a colonist makes at a time, the less chance of pregnancy.
Fixed bug in the filter "Acceleration". Now the possibility of 100% pregnancy at the start is excluded.


LAUNCHER

Changed the structure of the launcher.
Fixed critical connection errors on some systems.

Download the new launcher "Version 10.0". The old version will not work.

Also, a lot of adjustments and technical alterations were made because of the introduction of new species of colonists.

We checked all the key moments and corrected all possible errors, but because of the wide variety of mixing of the genes, there may be undetected errors.

At the moment, 30 varieties of genetic cocktails are created.
In the next updates we plan to add sex poses with Hybrids. There are a lot of hybrids and we will produce separate series with sex poses.

We will add new poses and appearance. It is also planned to work with Assistants (Marina and Olli).

I have not been able to buy any of the other races. I am stuck with only human colonists. I am on version 1.7.0.7 It will not update beyond that.

At the moment, they are available only to the patrons, you need to build a market, after 2ish days go to the embassy(city hall) and there's a story event, after which they should be buyable

It wont run after trying to update, it says that I am not running the latest version, even after uninstalling and deleting the launcher folder.

Awesome updates! Could you add back the "X" when reviewing quests from Rourke or Monk, the quest stays on the screen until you move to a building.

For those who do not run the game and wrote that the account was not found: Install a new launcher. The old launcher does not work. For correct operation of the game, delete the folder with the game before installing the new launcher.

Since update, all my new colonists have skills between 1 and 3... Parents have 30 endurance or 30 strengh. Seems we have a bug here. Speaking of bugs, anybody knows the last 2 micro-updates content (1.8.01 and 1.8.02) ?

OK, I've been thinking about the game in general in light of the ongoing problems shown by the new release, and I've basically decided to walk away from the game for a few months and take another peek much later in the hopes that the basic structural problems with the dev team will be resolved, but I'm not at all optimistic. Put very simply, the Pandorium team has some good artists and interesting ideas, but absolutely no clue what in the world they're doing in creating game mechanics, and shoddy to non-existent QA practices. Since there also seems to be a language barrier separating the devs from the player base, I have my doubts that the team can correct these skill deficiencies before alienating the community enough to cause a collapse in patron support and a consequent death of the game. Another likely scenario is that they will not be able to pay to employ people with those skills owing to stagnating patron revenue, with the same long term result. The apparent QA problem is pretty basic and pretty endemic. First it looks like the new hybridization system has drastically reduced the stats of newborn pureblooded humans in the latest patch, effectively breaking breeding for non-patrons. There's also been a nerf to the effectiveness of breeding at low endurance that has drastically reduced the number of female humans male humans can fertilize in one "sitting". It's not clear if this was a feature that was previously introduced and that players with lots of breeders hadn't experienced because it only effected people who didn't skip through the sex scenes, or if it is a new innovation, but this is completely irrelevant to the point I'm making because either scenario can only happen if there isn't adequate QA testing. Either the mechanic was added and no one thought to test if it was working when the skip sex scene button was pressed, OR no one tested it with a large population of breeders to see if it changed the game experience drastically for that play style. Shifting the responsibility for finding bugs onto your players, especially players who are paying for the privilege of early access, is a good way to piss people off. At a more basic level, the devs don't seem to understand anything at all about game mechanic balancing, and they don't seem to have a clear idea what sort of game they are making. Development seems to just be throwing ideas at the wall and seeing what sticks. Obviously the economic system makes no sense, there's no situation where a newly founded colony in an underpopulated area would have its population surplus be its primary export, but we could ignore that if the economy was well balanced and engaging, which it isn't. The main problem is that when you look at ways to develop your resource production (which is the ONLY thing you can do other than breeding), the tradeoff between expanding your mine and your farm versus just training up your workers gets skewed wildly in favor of training very quickly. I have a level 5 farm with 15 farmers at level 8 with 14 endurance each. It will cost me 100,000 credits and 200,000 minerals to upgrade to level 6 and get 5 more farmer slots, and I already have 8 more farmers with the same stats waiting in the wings to fill up these slots. Doing so will get me an increase in food production of ~230 units. Great. Problem is that it will take ~230,000 credits to buy that expansion because the mine's production is too slow and my credit income from selling colonists will outstrip my mineral production, meaning I will buy the minerals in the market. That's about 1000 credits for a increase in food production of 1. But, I can spend 1,440 to train up a farmer to level 9, and that will yield 3 more food production, or 480 credits per food point. And judging by the curve of the colonist experience requirements, it's going to be a VERY long time before I get to a point where training my farmers another level is less cost effective than buying a farm expansion. I'd say at least level 20 or so. But buying more farmer slots is actually fairly sensible compared to the larger garden bed expansions. I pay 20,000 credits for a level 4 garden bed, and that will give me 3 more units of food production, which is six times less effective than the overall farm expansion and 18 times less effective than training. There's no balance between the options for expanding farm production. The same math applies to the mine. I get ~8 more units of mineral production per training level, which is 1080 credits for my 11 level 7 miners with 12 strength right now, as opposed to 165,000 credits to add 4 more miner slots, which would give ~396 more mineral productions points with 4 more identical miners. So the disparity is about 8 minerals per 1000 credits for training miners as opposed to 2.4 per 1000 for expanding the mine. At current market prices in my game, you can sell the 8 units of mineral production you get for investing 1000 credits for 2.96 credits. You can sell the 3 units of food production you can install for the same price for 6.39 credits. This is just enough to nearly buy 10 units of minerals. That comparative advantage in food versus mineral production will intensify as the price and production bonuses from the achievemnts pile up. This effectively means that there is no reason to expand the mine or train miners in the game unless you expand the farm to the point that 1000 credits gets you farm production that can be traded for less than 8 minerals in total, and that could be a very long time coming. Were all of these factors considered when the game economy was designed? Clearly not. I strongly suspect that I'm the first person who's run the math, ever. Then there's the problem that game doesn't seem to know which style of play it would like to encourage. The ridiculously slow economic production suggests that it's intended to be a game you devote 10-20 minutes to once per day. If that's the case, why does it disproportionately reward the strategy of spamming training, which requires you to reopen the game and check once every 20 minutes? I'm sure more experienced gaming gurus could point out plenty of other balancing and QA issues. I hope the Pandorium team can take the above criticism constructively and improve their development methodology. I'll look in at the game again at some point in the future, and maybe there'll be a better game by then, but for now, I'm not investing any more of my time.

Well, seems letting the black screen with four dots run for a very long time worked the second time around.

I misunderstood you. For correct work - delete the folder with the game, install the launcher, run the game on behalf of the administrator (right click on the shortcut of the game - run as administrator). Should work.

Having trouble with updating. Ran 10.0 the first time, it asked me if it could update current install and I said yes. Seemed to be loading, got me through the 2 continue screens, then went to a black screen with a sound file running and four dots blinking in the middle of screen. Let this go on a long time, figured it was broken. Uninstalled game, removed it from my program86 (entire game directory) ran install again this morning...and same thing happened. At a loss here, little help plz?

They don't get it. I had this argument with them last month about adding interest to the game. Right now all I do is log in, do a few things, and log out. Game is so slow and expensive progression wise . I mean after you breed your colonists, turn in any quests that you can do and pay for whatever training you can afford, all that's left to do is sit there and stare at the screen. Zero engaging elements.

Finally got a chance to play the update, and really love it! There are some great improvements and I'm super excited to see the hybrids :-0 The new males r a bit uncanny haha as said many times, they are all so similar in their faces and need musclesss. I wonder what new mutants u have in store for us :-) would be nice if the game moved a little faster, but such is it's style maybe. Great work guys! Ooops. Breeding completely broken. Offspring from parents between 33 and 44 have stats no higher than 3 per skill and loads of 1's. Also demands for fertility and stamina seem to have been raised considerably? is this on purpose?

I wanted to suggest that you consider working on the other colony buildings, ie nightclub, spaceport and/or expedition, soon. There are some nice things about the game, notably the graphics, and the concept is great, but it's still VERY basic. There just aren't enough different things to do, and to be honest, there really isn't enough sex. I'm guessing nightclub just gives you money based on sexiness of colonists working there, so it shouldn't be too hard to create and it would help with both problems

So, eh, how do I get the Sirians in my game?

We will still adjust this filter. Perhaps somewhere we made a mistake. The new system was supposed to add fatigue and correct the problem with breeding (100% pregnancy, which spoils the whole game). But instead, the pregnancy has almost disappeared :) This problem is only with the acceleration filter.

Hi! After the update, it turned out one oddity. Characteristics of children who are born after the renovation is much lower than that of parents. All indicators are not higher than 3. Although parents have characteristics 6-9-15.

Played yesterday and was fine...

I think the human male faces are fine, it's their bodies that bother me. They look very odd. I also really dislike the bang sound in the the music. It's very jarring compared and bothersome.

He fixed the mistake with Monk.

Hey the update is great except for the new breeding fatigue thing. My men who have E30 and F29 barely even get 4 or 5 attempts before their tire with woman with stats of E25 and F25, this new change is really frustrating and I'm sure the majority of people will thinks so. Feels like it defeats the purpose of training fertility.

Reinstall the game. Some files are corrupted. Before reinstalling, delete the old folder with the game.

btw this fatigue thing is really annoying, it will make top players to quit. i cannot spend more than 1.5 hours for game and neither lots of people. even my 24 (farm skill) 12(fertility skill) males just become useless after 5-6 time. so i need to at least double my male list and boosting them through upgrade. that's lot of work. it takes any more than two hours i'm out.

So, may i include my observations with the current update: 1. Return the previous male models and avatars, the current are a mess 2. Lighten up the breading system, the previous was excellent i.e. no need for fatigue, or at least lower the parameters it influence. 3. some glitches i observed like the quest window wen opened from the left of the screen, is all transparent. Filter's problem, on allocation filter does not disappear on click elsewhere. That's all for now, keep up the good work. ;) p.s. first 2 issues are of major importance

of all the new features, we desperately need, faster sell and breeding systems. when you have a colony of 1000 people it takes at least one hour to do all that stuff.

Firstly let me say I love this game and this latest update looks amazing. I have one major and one minor comment that I think you need to very carefully consider. First the minor item - I totally agree with "Chaffing Pants" above, the change in appearance of the human males is a retrograde step - You had them perfect before now they are ugly. The MAJOR ISSUE - Your change to the Breeding parameters is a disaster waiting to happen, you run the risk of losing your fan base with this. If you have a small community and the time to have them copulate while you watch this change may be fine but you have added HOURS to the time it takes to maintain a large community. I use the 2 filter buttons to remove already pregnant females and have the selected pair try repeatedly till she is successfully impregnated. I have 56 males and 237 females atm and this worked fine, but with the change in breeding parameters this repeat button simply drains their energy and the alternative of 1 at a time even with only 1 copulation per pregnancy times 237 females at say 1 minute each = 4 hours and most tale 2+ attempts. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reverse this change in breeding parameters.

When will the Night Club, Bank of Universe, and the Casino be introduced? I'm so excited to see when they come about :)

While I don't feel like the human males are now "uglier" per se, I am a bit disturbed by how homogenous the faces look. It's like everyone's a clone with different hair and skin color. I am also unhappy with how difficult it is to breed colonists now. After exhausting all my females, I went from 80%+ successful pregnancy to 58%. It was pretty tedious work to drag myself to a level where my colonists consistently bred. Now I feel like my hard work's gone to waste. It's frustrating.

Wow the male human faces are horrid. I like the increase in speed of the UI much less laggy. We really need MOUSE SCROLL!! Filter is fine but we would be better served with a STAT sorting ie. sort by END or STR, etc. Also Multi select for selling, allocation, training. Monk bug about not being able to exit seems to have been noticed. Whomever made the new background noise needs to be shot. WTF is with the random BANG in the sound track. Scared the hell out of me in the middle of the night. The new unknown variable about exhaustion during breeding needs to be shown. We assumed that's what the endurance bar indicated in the first place.

First thanks for an update of the hybrids.... here comes the but :)

I had a loading glitch while trying to get to the farm (it got to 100% and sat there) ended up closing the game (alt+F4) after 5 min. The after doing a few quests in the Black market merchant the (x) to close the window disappeared had to close the game as nothing else would work. While collecting the daily gifts the sound bugged and kept repeating/chopping until I left the area. otherwise love the update, the human male model change is different but after spending a bit of time looking at it is starting to grow on me

Thank you for the update. I quite like it but please check the back/close button for the breeding room and Monk. It sometimes disappears. I think I understand why you changed the male faces - their features are much clearer now - but the new ones aren't that pretty and some look almost the same. The old ones were more... diverse? Maybe add chest hair on some or tattoos or something. Oh, and as @Nubins said, maybe you could make some of the freaks have a single really strong trait. Like 5 strength &amp; 0 everything else. Even if they can't breed and they need say 6 units of food, I would still keep a couple of them for mining or as soldiers. Just selling them is not that interesting... Anyways, keep up the good work Pandorium team! :)

The new male human look doesn't really bother me. Not really sure what the fuss is about tbh. Really enjoy the Male Sirian x Female Human animation as well, it looks great.

These hybrids look awesome, but maybe the downfall of "freaks" is a bit much. I think this could be renamed to "disabled" or something and instead of making them useless make it so they're either extreme or different, I actually think that handled well this could be a really inclusive way to develop the game because there are millions who have slightly different bodies or minds just because of their birth and including them makes us all better.

When I go see Monk, there is no close button anymore, so I can't figure out how to close the dialog. Oh and add me to the list of people who are not fans of the new male models and heads.

Any chance you could add a way to sort and filter by stat type and value? The whole level thing is kinda silly, the levels don't mean anything other than resale value and training costs. Breeding and allocation are entirely based on the colonists stats. I could be missing something, but I don't see a way to make the filter work with stats, which really makes it pretty much useless for macromanagement when it comes to stats and breeding.

I'm looking forward to seeing more of this update, however add me to the list of people who really prefer the old male models and faces. I had to double check and make sure there wasn't a bug where existing colonists were already hybridised, they look quite alien now. I'd like to add a suggestion for the freaks... I like the idea of them, but instead of making them all useless, perhaps you could make some of them have a single really strong trait or something like that. The occasional mutant may well turn out to be exceptional as a soldier, or incredibly strong for working in a mine or very high endurance for working on a farm etc. Makes them a bit more interesting than just failures to be sold all the time.

Bg , 4 human births , in archievements they are counted as sirians , but in allocation they are still human.

I agree with those who have found the male models, more ugly than the previous ones. I find the new system of Fatigue and Fertility (in general) frustrating. Normally my colonists were much more productive. Personally I preferred the old system. I also find the costs of training (even if not changed) and that rise too quickly (at the level of credits for each experience point). I reserve the right to evaluate the hybrids as soon as the few pregnancies obtained come to an end.

So the more attempts you make the less chance of success? That means there is diminiching returns on having higher level breeders. Having a high endurance means your breeder will get tired faster as endurance only effects how many times they can breed. I think you need to reexamine the way the fatige mechanic is scaling at the higher levels. It looks like you have the reduction in fertility changing at a flat rate. If that is true then there is a point at which raising endurance is no long effective.

Very minor problem with the new non-Patron version. I had 72 Humans born today, but I got 72 Sirians in the relevant Sirian breeding achievement. Thus the first 3 achievement levels and credits for no good reason.

Ok I have two problems, the frist is went I go to Monk, there is no way for me to leave his screen, and the second is, I need fliters for thoses who are working, ei I want to know who is not working so I do training, not dig through the whole roster, and a fliter for the women who are not preganet, again so I can do training without having to dig throught the whole roster. The fliters I can work around, but I do neede away to leave Monks screen without closesing the whole game.

If I understand correctly, then the filter can not be reset automatically. He remembers the last settings.

Not sure if its intentional or accidental but the new management system in the hostel is rather painful to use. I select a level or type or race and apply but as soon as I perform an action such as training the darn thing reverts to how it shows originally so in order to train specific levels types or races in have to go back and choose the settings over and over. This needs to be fixed ASAP.

Hello. Thanks for the feedback. No, I'm not offended. I was ready for criticism. The reason for the change of men was that the old bodies were very different from the new ones. They were more coarse and the color transitions blurred. I take into account the feedback and I am ready to make changes. The new system of reproduction has remained unchanged. We added the "fatigue" of the colonist, which is closer to reality, and corrected the error in "accelerating" sex. The basic system remained unchanged.

I'd revert to the old male models until you can make changes. Compare your old males to the new ones and using the same detail and line work refine the pieces. Faces too, I'd place your new and old male facial features side by side and alter them to be closer to the original overall structure with your newer line style. Just a bit of advice from a fellow artist, good luck.

I have to agree with the people who don't like the new male model. Reasons being a) the hair on some of the models looks greasy now. b) the proportions were thrown off a bit, they look a bit too feminine now, and their chests all look sunken. c) they look hunched over now, their old appearance was more upright. While I do like your new line style and that you have more detail in your work, you really have to be careful with how you use it. The new fecundity system is pretty heavy handed, the failure rate is too high, I can't even imagine new players with 3-5 fecundity and 3-5 endurance colonists trying to gain more population lol. Other than that great job, looking forward to seeing the different hybrids in a couple days, keep up the work. As a fellow artist by profession I can understand how you'll probably take offense to people criticizing your art, don't take it too personally. Cheers.

I think I have to unwillingly side with the "angry mob" regarding the male models. I liked the old model because they were more muscular, now they are kind of feminine and all of my males have the same face now (which they didn't have before the update) However I really like the game and I support your way of developing it and I'm very excited to see how it will progress from here! Good job guys!

Does the fecundity value mean nothing now??? Or is it a bug? I just had a male human with 24 endurance and 25 fecundity faill so much I think he only impregnated 5 females. I should mention all of the females I was breeding had over 20 fecundity themselves...... WTF. Please tell me this is not what you meant by "Changes have been made in the system of breeding".

I don't care what that kone… says, you are awesome, and what some don't seem to understand is, you are in the process of making a great game, that is already good unfinished.(in my opinion) Thanks for your work, and I'm proud to be a supporter. Wish I could afford more.

It looks good, however if you talk to Monk with all 5 of your quest slots already full it makes it impossible to leave the conversation. Also the filter is great! But is there a way you can filter specifically by stats and not level? It's hard to find certain colonists when you're using say women high in strength to breed with men high in endurance and the only filter seems to be for the skill(s) relevant to that particular class.

I seriously hope you intend to tweak the breeding back to where it was. It's fine and even understandable to make it more difficult to interbreed species. But to go from a 100% fertilization rate on my pure humans/sirians to about 50% is ridiculous. Go ahead and whack your patrons on the head with a big hammer why don't you? The game is already so slowly paced and massively expensive to accomplish anything meaningful you guys figured you'd just double down on that? You are going to lose patrons if you don't fix this.

If you are talking about the "acceleration" of breeding, then we have made corrections to this filter. Because earlier it had an error that resulted in 100% of pregnancy. We fixed it. If you do not use the "acceleration" filter, the system has not changed.

First off, glad for more content. Second off, I had a bug with Monk, didn't seem to have any way to get out of interacting with him. I also really, really don't like the new art for the human males. They seem almost elfish, or something. It just doesn't fit. What was wrong with the old models??? Last, the human males look extremely feminine in the m+f with sirians. not the position, just the art and proportions.
