Good day, everyone!
I hope your weekend is in full swing, so I'll be adding some activities for the near future.
I have prepared an assembly with the villagers for your perusal.
In this version of the project I have corrected the balance (this is more for future updates, but it had to be done now).
A lot of work has been done on optimization. Because now there are a lot of living creatures on the map and that is a very heavy load on performance.
Finalized the system of precipitation and weather.
Also added more than 60 weapons and crafting objects to the system, but at the moment you can't use them (I haven't finished working on animations and in addition require weapon icons).
But the two main additions/changes took up the most of my time:
I made a change to the main character. It's now one type without the ability to choose a race. This is done to optimize performance. I don't have a lot of free time to make content for all types. I will finish all the work on the current character first and then add other variations. This saves my time and makes it easier to work in the current moment.
Character customization doesn't make much sense at this stage of development, but it takes up a lot of precious time.
To avoid future problems, I've disabled the other variations of the character.
The next global update, it's the villagers.
At the moment you can talk to each of them and find out what role they play in the world and in the life of this village.
The conversations are of an introductory nature and all quests with them are not available at the moment.
The Aborigines are presented for informational purposes only.
At this point, I did not delve into the complex system of aboriginal behavior. It requires a lot of animations and even more time. At the moment they have a limited system of behavior and reactions.
In the future I will make their daytime type of behavior more diverse and the reaction to the player will be more complex.
Reputation systems will be added, which will affect the relationship with each of the natives.
At the moment they only react to aggression from the player. Try not to hit them.
In the future, you'll be able to interact with each of the villagers in all sorts of quests.
Directly working on the villagers took up the most of my time. I had to take into account their further use in sex scenes and quests. This required thinking through all the possible plot developments from the pregnancy of a female to the death of possibly key characters.
Some natives may become your helpers, some your wives, and some your enemies. This needs to be considered and planned for early on.
This is basically a summary of the work done. Check personally how the optimization, the dialogue system and the rhythm of the natives' life works.
The next stage will be the addition of nightlife.
The island is not safe at night and tomorrow I will start working on the very creatures that will keep you awake.
You can download the release: HERE
Because of the fact that sometimes I write questions about system requirements, I will remind the minimum data on which the game is proven to work:
Windows 10, GTX1660 6GB, 32RAM
That's pretty much it. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.
Hugs! See ya!
