2 Tribit Stormbox Micro vs Bose Soundwear Companion

Comments

Haha. Just noticed jimmy taken a shit.

I think most wearable speakers rather suck, Sony also has one and the sound is just anemic. I highly doubt that Monster can offer something decent.

I recently noticed that Monster has a wearable speaker, called the Monster Boomerang but I'm not sure about it

I showed exactly this at the end of the video.

This seems interesting, but I am wondering how I would strap them together near my head without a backpack and how is sound leakage compared to the Soundwear Companion

I think they wanted to sound to become as unintrusive as possible for nearby people. You could hear that it was just treble when listened from some distance, while the Tribit definitely sounded like a speaker. Bose also applied some advanced port design which works crosswise, the port of the left driver is at the right ear and vice versa. Maybe there was no other way to design the ports within such a small enclosure, I am not sure.

You mentioned a phase trick. According to you what did Bose try to achive?

Glad you tried this, Oluv. I have been doing this with BOSE micros on my hiking pack ever since you first showed them on your channel years ago, and sort of assumed you used them this way as well. I also tried and returned the soundwear because I can’t stand to listen to the out of phase bass. I even tried the Bose frames out of curiosity. In case you wondered, they have the same phase trick but sound even worse with no ability to produce bass in such a small package. I have had good results sliding the micros up until they are firing more upward, and using an even lower volume such as 10%. “Hearthrough” on some earphones has gotten pretty realistic sounding, especially the AirPod pros, but for hearing the sounds of nature while hiking they are no match for shoulder strap speakers. At 10% volume the people with me can’t even hear the music and I still have a full-sounding stereo image. I would gladly switch to the stormbox for the ease of pairing (the Bose are a hassle), if they would add some dynamic bass boost. I just like the Bose micros too much at minimum volume.

Beautiful misty scenery again. Hopefully you sound polluted only for the sake of the review! ;)

Nowadays bose does nothing special 10-5 years ago bose hit the market with their sounddock and soudlink series whose were one of the best compact speakers, now their newer speakers are easily beaten by the cheapest brand... The bose home speakers (it’s decent but overpriced) doesn’t sound much better than the very old sounddock portable and they still use exactly the same 2.5 inch neodymium drivers whose are quite decent but they should improve it (they are also used on a lot of units like the soundtouch 10 and 20, the soundlink air, the soundlink wireless music and the home speaker 500 like i said)

The bose is overpriced as hell, there is no bass like a children toy... The tribits sounds much bigger

The BOSE sounds so out of phase it gives me a headache.

I'm not attempting to be facetious, but I don't get the category. For personal listening, surely headphones are way better, especially with multiple models now having a "hearthrough" facility (such as my Momentum 3s). Obviously, they're no good for sharing music as per a normal Bluetooth speaker either. Happy to be corrected 😊

It’s still the best out there within this category. I only know the JBL which was horrible but my friend heard the one from Sony with its passive radiators and that’s just bad.

Dont think i could enjoy music with the bose, while the tribits are actualy very nice.

I got a second handed bose soundwear for 140€. although it's not the best speakers out there, but there are still sometimes where the soundwear is more convenient than other speakers. Just wished that it had better and more bass to it. I think this would have improved the sound quite a bit.
