Tribit Stormbox Pro - soundcheck

Der Sony und der Motion+ wird wohl mein Kauf bin so gespannt habs echt schwer den passenden Speaker für mich zu finden

Okay nach dem doch wirklich ziemlich coolen Stormbox Micro ist der Pro wirklich eine ziemliche Enttäuschung. Man kann dich nur nicht vorstellen, dass das wirklich Leute gut finden und dafür so viel Geld ausgeben. Schade, dass du nicht noch den Earfun Uboom zum Vergleich herangezogen hast. Das hätte mich nochmal interessiert da er ja auch im 360 Grad Bereich wildert. Was mich dazu bringt, dass mich mal interessieren würde, ob du schon mal einen Beosound 2 gehört hast. Der ist zwar preislich in einer völlig anderen Liga, aber da er auch ein 360 Grad Speaker mit Akku ist wäre es durchaus mal interessant deine Meinung dazu zu hören.

yup loudness seems to be a cheap aproach to make people wanting to choose a speaker, if it makes noise then perfect, here i am sharing my music with a crappy sounding speaker.

I was counting on it too. Unfortunately, this is another time when tribit made a product with a strange sound.

It's great that you tested this speaker. They've been working on it for a long time and I am very disappointed myself. As for such a construction, it should play really sensational, and the sound ... strange, not completely deep, although sometimes you can hear something, the top is also muffled, and when it is louder it is sharp. I can see that it is better to buy an anker motion boom, because there I can always slightly adjust the sound to myself / the surrounding conditions.

This is how we did it on the Stormbox. I sent them EQ values they created a firmware which I installed to check if the values were interpreted correctly by the DSP which in all the cases so far were not, thus I always had to check the deviation from what was the goal and estimate new values which would approximate the final goal somehow. The same was the case for the Earfun Free Pro this time, in the end I needed 7 iterations to get the final sound inside the device how I had planned. But then comes the sample variation and need to make my values to work well for units that decorate from the center on both directions this finding some kind of average. This of course means that none of the devices produced will sound exactly equal to the one I was tuning. But in case of the Free Pro sample variation seems pretty low from all the units I have heard so far. They all sounded pretty much the same. But I wanted to talk about all the details in an upcoming video also talking about my sound goals and how I tried to achieve them etc just didn’t manage yet to prepare all samples etc But I want to make this the next days after the official announcement tomorrow.

Hi Oluv, thanks for the video, nice comparisson, it was what I was expecting from the right person, and I'd like to ask you, is it possible to make it sounds better from firmware upgrade? What would be the limits to change sound signature of a speaker through firmware?

Po tym teście wydaje mi się że Charge 5 gra ciutkę lepiej od Sony XB33... albo inaczej jest fabrycznie lepiej zestrojony 🤔 A ten Tribit to porażka konstrukcyjna niestety...

off topic I know, but was it in one of your videos where I saw some stands for the Minirigs that position them at an angle or did I see them somewhere else? I prefer the sound of my Minirig Mini 2s at an angle on my desk but haven’t found stands for sale anywhere.

Habe die Stormbox Pro seit ca. 1.5 Monaten. War enttäuscht am Anfang. Mittlerweile finde ich sie jedoch gut. Hat eine Klarheit, jedoch keinen prägnanten Bass. Der Punch fehlt, ok. Die Höhen kommen jedoch sehr zur Geltung. Das einzige was mir jedoch fehlt ist eine App von Tribit wo ich persönliche Einstellungen machen kann. Da bin ich enttäuscht. Die Stormbox Pro finde ich hätte aber Potential.

Yeah I got a prototype from them and gave them suggestions how to make it sound decent. I didn’t have much influence on the overall sound as the product was already more or less finished thus I couldn’t really improve bass etc just corrected mids and treble to make it sound more appealing. The prototype unit I got back then sounded smoother though, later units were harsher not sure why. Meanwhile all the original engineers from Tribit created their own company: Earfun. Their last project for Tribit was the MaxSound Plus, everything later was done by someone else. Although I am surprised that the Stormbox Micro turned out that nicely.

Didn't know you were responsible for the tuning! The Tribit StormBox BTS30 is one of my favourite speakers ever. The sound is incredible for its size, I use it everywhere.
