Some years ago I was asked by a Russian sound engineer if I would like to test his revolutionary new speaker technology. This is the video I made for him as I definitely expected something different than the DIY (clay?) prototype he sent me.
Just let me quote some techical details (or shall I say marketing slipslop?) together with a sketch he sent me:
The new revolutionary technology eliminates compression within the housing and allows the air to the rear of the driver unimpeded flow out enhancing low frequency range at all volume levels. Simple construction and requires no new materials but minimal influence on the final price portable speaker.
The advantage of the new technology is a revolutionary sound quality as the offer on the market applicable for: bluetooth portable, wireless speakers, a subwoofer and soundbar. I have developed a complete design of a new portable speaker that has implemented a new technology for a unique sound quality.
The difference of two systems is that new technology eliminates changing bass at high volume levels present in systems with passive radiators and bass reflex. The application form is also available in all forms of housing and 360 degree sound concept, the volume of small and large wireless systems and round and a rectangle driver.
To test the new technology I've developed a prototype 3-inch full range speaker in 2 liters of volume for comparison with 3 inch full range speaker in 2 liters of volume with a one 3.5-inch passive radiator in the same measurement conditions and power sources. The distance between the microphone and speakers is 40 cm measured on-axis. Another test comparison of the dual passive radiator with dual new technology. The results are better than 40hz bass with optimal distortion for D2 and D3 using the new technology with clear and clean sound.
