Hey guys I got an ultimatum today
Added 2022-05-31 19:58:24 +0000 UTCI want to be straight with you guys, my family, specially my mother, never liked that I chose an artistic career and of course she knows the kind of stuff that I draw and is ashamed of it. And thinks I will be poor or have no money for anything. More importantly it took me a long time to finish my degree in art I studied for a long time, now she wants me to make tons of money each month. The point being I’m still at home but I may get kicked out by the end of the year if I want to be here I have to give my mother 250usd each month, so yeah, but I have no savings I have very little earnings so I want you guys to help me out a little not monetarily but with suggestions like sites to post places where to share art I dunno, I always had this dream to be an artist for as long as I remember I held on to it and well here I am fortunate that I am able to do stuff for you all to enjoy. However, I need to broaden my horizons. And if you got ideas, think of me as someone who is just starting so I’m pretty sure other people wouldn’t know me or even care who I am/was. I want to prove I can be a successful artist. So I want to hear your thoughts, I know many of you already increased your pledges and trust me I really really appreciate you all and I strongly appreciate everyone who is pledging and helping me out it makes me hold on to hope. Sorry about the very long post I just am a little hurt by the discussion I had a little while ago and it may be difficult to understand what I talked about.
Long story short I need to expand and I ask you for help. Even places you may think I could post my stuff that may attract interest here I would highly appreciate.
As a final note, I don’t want to be pitied, this isn’t meant to be one of those posts that want you to feel bad about my inability to do better. However I just wanted to tell you all about what is going on and that yeah I am in a bad spot right now, yeah I am scared, I am insecure and sad but I’m also looking for a way to do better because that is what we should do strive to be better without letting go of our dreams. Even after my mother told me “you don’t want to be anybody in life” I want to be, maybe I will not be a huge influence or I won’t change the world but I want to be an artist one that makes good looking art of girls and this I had clear a long time ago.
Finally I want to apologize for the long and sad post and thank every single one of you for being here come good or bad. I am truly sorry for posting this and thank you truly for reading this far. I love you all, my best wishes!

You might want to consider a ko-fi account, but also, don't you have your OC character too? Peachy I think? (the one with the wavey hair and cute butt) Haaaave you maybe considered opening up a Redbubble and putting her on merchandise as a sortof mascot character? It might be something to look in to?

Short term things like giveaways (free request or something) in exchange for followers or retweets/reblogs/etc can help draw in new potential fans, memes help a lot, but ultimately you have to do what you're happy doing. I personally post my stuff on Twitter and Deviantart, and stream occassionally. I don't post on a lot of sites, but that's just what works for me. Maintaining social media is a whole full time job in itself, and leaves less time for art, so it's up to you to figure out and decide that balance

I won't bring up going full furry because I don't think you need to go for furry money necessarily. But big-draw anthro characters like Krystal and Isabelle and loona are going to bring you people you wouldn't otherwise see.

Also post softcore as far and wide as you can: DeviantArt, FurAffinity, Pixiv, Newgrounds, Twitter, whatever place that allows this sorta stuff. Heck, offer hardcore on DeviantArt's new pledge system if possible.

2022-05-31 21:22:54 +0000 UTCTo be honest, I think the most profitable solution is to design "of the moment" characters: pay attention to what is in fashion period after period, such as new series on Netflix or webseries. Not long ago, for example, the characters of League of Legend went a lot, thanks to the series Arcana on Netflix (especially the couple Caitlyn-Vi or that adorable schizophrenic Jinx); or a couple of webseries entitled "Hazbin Hotel" and "Helluva Boss" are getting a lot of attention, both set in hell, but with characters so well made that it is impossible not to empathize with them (in the second there is Loona and she is ... a furry ... obviously one of the characters most appreciated by fans). I think Patreon is still fine as a base for using both soft and hard images, then maybe you can only post soft photos on other sites, like DeviantArt, Twitter, Tumbrl, e-hentai (yes, even if it's called so it has several safe galleries) ... advertising the fact that if users want the NSFW version, they can enjoy it thanks to a small contribution right here on Patreon. I would start like this 😉
