Part 2: Perspective ✦ Part 3: Composition ✦ Part 4: Posing tips
At last, a tutorial! And it's going to be a 4-part series because I have a lot of resources I would like to share. I know there's tons of tutorials out there so hopefully mine is pretty easy to understand and gives you insight on my process.
I highly recommend researching more into Line of Action because it's a great tool for fun posing. Many of our favorite shows and cartoon utilize this method, some pushing more than others. This skill can be applied to a range of styles from Loony Toons and Spongebob, all the way to Avatar the last Airbender and Voltron.
I also want to recommend a few gesture sites I like for practice!
Line-of-action.com
QuickPoses.com
Reference.sketchdaily.net
These sites also offer timed-poses which I opt for. It's easy to get sucked-in to a pose and spend hours on it, however a good 1 minute pose can really exercise your ability to identify anatomy and the line of action in the pose. That way you can also get a good 20 poses in for a good practice session!
Anyway, feel free to ask questions if you have any! The full res file is attached in the post as well.
