Not to hard even just have her find a weird looking fruit on the fruit trees (the once her sister gave her and are still on the ship) eat it be disgusted and change all in one gaining knowledge of the fruits name and a will to test it out. You can always have her turn into a hyper bimbo later afterall people getting better at their fruit and even awakening it are an established thing in one piece afterall.
