Wonderful Wednesdays # 7

OK. So it's not really Wednesday. But as I mentioned, I'm buried under this day job work. But I still wanted to get y'all your newest Kickstarter Digital Reward! :D

And for your latest digital reward, I have something a little different! So far I’ve been showing you art for the Powers Cards—but there are actually three other types of card packs Kickstarter backers will be receiving along with their printed books: Romance, First Time, and Origin.

The art for the Origin Cards features one of the first uses of that character’s power. And I’m now delighted to share with you the Origin Card art for everyone’s favorite hydrokinetic, Tsunami! :D

The scene in this card takes place long before the events of the Engaging the Enemy arc in the comic! This is back in the day, when Tsunami was just 14 years old and using his powers was a pure joy.

Painted by Sean Platter of Studio Splatter, this shows young Tsunami shortly after he discovered his powers—he’s using those new powers to create water slides for his cousins and him and they are having the time of their lives. (Hmm. I wonder what grown-up Tsunami might say about this reckless behavior? And is this joyful kid still inside him somewhere? Maybe we’ll find out… ;) )

I think Sean did a simply awesome job with this painting. Please let me know what you think!

Tsunami Origin Card Art Digital Reward

While the previous art styles were good for mobile phones, this “landscape” orientation is great for desktop/notebook/iPad wallpapers. Put one of these wallpapers on your computer and hop on for the ride of your life!

I also created an iPhone/mobile version. It maybe crops off a bit more than I’d ideally like for my personal aesthetics, but I still think it works and I decided to include it because I think some of you might also enjoy having it on your phone. :)

I really hope you like them! Let me know in the comments!

More soon!

Absolutely gorgeous, but I can't help but feel slightly concerned about the kid that appears to have been thrown off the water slide.

You're very welcome, Chris. This was a fun one to work on with Sean. :)

Glad you think this is awesome, Nadin! Thank you!

That's a good question, Joel. (And not to worry, the guy in the red shorts is going up, not down here.)

Alex Woolfson

So glad you like it, Kathleen! (And I hope so too... :) )

I can't help but wonder what tragedy turned him from this fun-loving guy into the super serious one he is now. Also hoping the guy at the top right (with red shorts) isn't falling down from that height. - Dakejev

I love this it's so adorable and I hope we get to see Tsunami that happy again sometime soon!

I like you little quip wondering if this joyful child is still in there and if NOT, why not? This is an image to make one smile. Sean Platter did a great job. Thanks AW.

Chris Dangerfield
