This week I'm showing some more work-in-progress Kickstarter art that is not connected to the Trading Cards. The image above is for the first "Bonus Action Print" where the Kickstarter backers got to choose which hero they wanted to see—and they voted to see Kyle in a classic heroic moment. So I went with as classic as you can get, our hero saving a child from a fire. :)
The linework is by the awesome Gabriel Mayorga. (Gabriel did both the pencils and inks on this, and the colors will be done by the amazing Alex Sollazzo.) But even without colors, I really like how this turned out. Lots of good drama and danger with a nice action pose for Kyle.

Canon or not, that would be interesting. Some villain goes back in time to try to prevent heroes from becoming heroes? Or demons - those folk don't fight fair :O

2015-06-02 18:39:55 +0000 UTCKyle is intended to be a "farmboy build" with 15-16% bodyfat. More fit than most of us and definitely strong, but he wouldn't have washboard abs, for example. I allow my artists some license with that, but that's the intention for his depiction.

In some scenes he is pudgy, others well muscled and here he has lost weight in his torso and arms and his butt is flat! Very unsuperhero. The curve to his right buttock is good but too far forward and his left cheek is hardly there at all. Maybe his superness has succombed to Spooky's eating habits.
