The Young Protectors - Legendary Chapter Three, Page 28

Hell can be beautiful, at times.

(Let’s all give a round of applause to Adam and Vero for this page. I was looking for epic and stunning—and got so much more.)

So! Looks like Anaado’s learned a thing or too in the last six years he’s spent with demon royalty. (And it seems he might have picked up a bit of a ‘tude from them, as well!) Is Spooky now completely out of his depth and his league? Where is Anaado taking them? And what other magic tricks for Spooky does his Ex-from-Hell still have up his loincloth?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there!

Glad you think so, CorruptedFate! :)

Me, too, Joshua. I wrote this chapter specifically wanting to play to Adam's strengths. There were a lot of tricky things to pull off... and he's nailed all of them. :)

I agree. Both the linework and the colors are stunning. I was particularly concerned with whether we'd be able to balance the dangers of Hell with its beauty—and I think those colors do the job perfectly.

Excellent theorizing, I'm totally on board. Something just aint right here! Adildo is doing to Spooky just what Duncan did to Kyle, and we know how that turned out.

This story is getting so real!

Personally, I think Adildo is lying. Lying, lying, lie-ying. What would be easier, to casually use the kind of power that normally takes weeks of prep, or to casually change the perception of a companion, so he perceives himself and his abilities to be younger and weaker. Also think he is lying about his own body. If you can make your target feel guilty by claiming he destroyed it, why admit it is comatose back in a cell? Heck, it'll die eventually if you don't get back to take care of it, so if you never plan to go back it is kinda sorta true... Of course, I have no evidence. On the face of it, I'm probably wrong. But that is my gut feeling. Then again, apparently Spooky was able to unconsciously use Kyle's power to start off this whole shebang, so Kyle is unthinkably strong and Adildo may be telling the truth about everything. What that means is, Kyle's body obvs has the power needed to recreate a new body for Mr dildo, here. Also, when he eventually breaks free, Kyle really needs to learn how to magically protect himself and his power from being used without consent. I have another theory about what is really happening, but won't go into that right now... ;P

I'm really enjoying Adam's rendition of a hellscape :)

Joshua Lewis

huh. Whoops. That explains a lot. I should be used to these kinds of character-deepening twists by now.

Curt Clark

put him in a doll as punishment then

Toruk

That second panel is magnificent.
