New Flyboy & Cory Pin-up by Travis Moore
Added 2019-02-12 14:01:00 +0000 UTCI wanted to create something truly special to celebrate our 4 year anniversary on Patreon. So I commissioned artist Travis Moore to draw and color a sweet pin-up of Flyboy & Cory, holding hands.... a mile or two up in the air.
I was hoping to release it in January for our official anniversary date, but it took a little longer to finish up.
Some things are definitely worth the wait.
I think this is my new favorite pin-up.
To refresh your memory, Travis Moore is a rock star. He's a comic book artist who has worked with DC, Vertigo, 1First, and Aftershock. His titles include Batman, Nightwing, Fables, Lark's Killer, JSA All-Stars, Freedom Fighters, and many more. In addition to his comic book duties, he is also in the process of developing a webcomic series of his own.
And I love his work.
I mean, just look at this. Of course, the draftmanship is excellent. The anatomy. The rendering of the skin. The painted clouds.
But it's the emotion that really gets me. Flyboy is in his element (and the foreground), but this is Cory's moment. Holding his guy. Truly happy. Deeply in love.
Travis makes me feel it with him. Makes me feel in love. It's a nice place to be. :)
I created a wallpaper version of this for your mobile phones. Hopefully it'll give each of you something to smile about every day too.

Anyway, I just want to say again how grateful I am for your continued support over these last four years. I make these comics in the hopes that they will help people learn to accept themselves for who they are, and learn to accept others better too. To see themselves as heroes in a world that often sends the opposite message.
You make that possible.

The colours in the clouds are just magical, and the sense of motion the whole piece conveys is awesome. And of course, the sweet emotional punch of the two of them sharing this moment. I really hope we see more of Mitch and Cory in the comic at some point soon <3
