The Young Protectors: Double Cross Chapter One—Page 12

Of course, he calls it the Spookymobile…

Hopefully you’ve had a chance to check out the new Patreon Rewards Index I just created. Over the past 4 years, I’ve made over 55 high-quality digital wallpapers with my characters and a bunch of other rewards available to our Patrons—so many that it can be hard to keep track of them all. But no longer! You can actually preview each pin-up in little galleries! Patrons and non-Patrons alike can know exactly what’s available and where to find it.

And speaking of our awesome Patrons, I want to to send out a very special thank you and welcome to our new Patrons this week!

Randy, Risa, An B., and Jeremy W.

(Thanks, y’all!)

And I’d also like to thank the totally awesome reader who was already a Patron, but who upped their pledge this week:

Lisa G.

(Thank you so much,  Lisa!)

Thank you all so much for your amazing support! You and the other Patrons are all the real superheroes of this comic!

So! Hi, Cory! Good to see you. What do you think about a little ride-a-long with the infamous Spooky Jones? Where do you think this night will take you? And how do you feel about “just being friends” with Mitch?

Tune in this Wednesday to find out! Hope to see you there! :D

Really glad you like it, QueBijoux! And yes, that's the power of media, IMHO. The stories that are told about us are the ones we're tempted to believe. The biggest motivator for me in making these comics is to show that all of us can be heroes.

:)

Alex Woolfson

Yep. Very important to me as a creator.

Alex Woolfson

Glad you like that. :)

Alex Woolfson

My goal there was to be evocative. :)

Alex Woolfson

His superhero name will not be Firefist. I promise.

Alex Woolfson

Having that representation, and in particular, showing that we all can be heroes is what moves me to make these comics. I'm glad it's something you and the other readers connect with. And thank you very much for letting me know you found the Index helpful. It took a lot of time, but if y'all find it useful, so worth it!

This is a fantastic page, reinforcing how we all look for ourselves -- or a rough approximation -- in media.

QueBijoux

"Short, dark and fluffy" indeed.

LarryP

Yay, representation!

"Short, dark, and fluffy" - ha! :-)

KendallPB

"Sunhawk Prime". Interestingly, a complete character design popped into my head at that. Granted, it was a near-complete rip-off of the costume designs from Gatchaman, but still.

Curt Clark

Pick a better name than Firefist, though.

I love the way you’ve reinforced your core value of representation here with Cory and Spooky. It’s so important for all of us to be able to see “heroes” we can identify with. And I’m loving that rewards index too. I already came across some things I missed before. Very helpful. Thanks!
