The Young Protectors - Legendary Chapter One, Page 33

Well, if you put it that way…

This is a SPECIAL LEGENDARY PAGE for Patrons — Don’t want these in your regular email Inbox? Click here. :)

So! Apparently Kyle’s got some explaining to do. Seems like he’s given this a lot of thought. Is he right about his best friend? And if so, what will this mean about where they go from here?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! :D

The Young Protectors - Legendary Chapter One, Page 33

Comments

Woah, Kyle obviously means well, but I can see how he is probably breaking Spookys heart into a million pieces with his view on Spookys love life.

Ric Freeman

Kyle......... the patronizing shit has to go....let Spooky decide how he feels and what he feels....

Jim Philbrick

I agree. Kyle has been on this whole “it’s just a favor!” trip while Spooky has been trying to open up the conversation, saying “this isn’t just a favor to me. I really do care about you,” and I can only imagine that Spooky is frustrated that Paul and now Kyle are giving him monologues about what is best without asking his opinion at all. I fully admit that I get attached to characters in stories I like, and it has been heartbreaking to read some comments that conclude that Spooky doesn’t or is somehow incapable of loving Kyle deeply and sincerely. Would any romance he has with Kyle have its share of rough patches? Sure, and even if those rough patches eventually led to a break up, I believe that Spooky would want it to be on the best of terms and to continue being Kyle’s teammate. Nothing I’ve seen in the backstories for Spooky suggest that he is emotionally unavailable. Reserved, yes, but not unavailable.

Soo.... Spooky's just gonna be left with blue balls- orrr??

Presumptuous? Yes, but at that age, who isn't? ;-)

Lee Rawitscher

I'm sure Kyle's heart's in the right place, and I know he THINKS he's speaking from a position of insight...But ultimately, the decision should be his and Spooky's to make. Regardless of how well-reasoned Kyle's argument may seem, hearing this from someone he could care for is painful. Kyle's being really unintentionally hurtful here, and while Spooks is super mature most of the time, I don't even know if I'd have the maturity to not be offended by my best friend casually telling me I'll never have a serious relationship because of something I have no power over...and after sex, no less.

Curt Clark

I guess I'm the only one who believes that Kyle is absolutely right? I think he's taking a very mature stand here and being a very good best friend, not letting Spooky fool himself into thinking "this time it'll be different!" because, more than likely, it won't. Why would anyone want to see either of these great guys hurt and their friendship strained if/when it falls apart?

KermitsGirl

....Kyle... Sweetheart... Shut your mouth.

Morgan

Yeah, Kyle's coming off as very presumptuous here. I don't think he knows Spooky as well as HE thinks he does...

That's alot of assuming

Toruk

This reminds me of River Song's speech about how she loves the Doctor but he doesn't love her back, honestly convinced he doesn't love her.

RedHexmaster

Wow, poor Spooky. This really just took a turn for him and Kyle is totally oblivious.

Spenser Vollmer

That sounds... very lonely for spooky...
