The Young Protectors: Fallen Chapter One—Page 28

Welcome to Monster Smurf Village, Cory.

Please note: These are work-in-progress colors. Vero should get me the final colors soon.

You can talk about this page at The Young Protectors Community here.

ANNIVERSARY PATRON THANK YOUS

Your continued support has always been the reason I’ve been able to continue making this comic. And I am especially grateful to our readers who continue to support this comic month-after-month during this time. Thank you for letting me continue to create these pages. Thank you for being the real superheroes of this comic.

And so, I hope everyone will please join me in wishing a very special Woolfpack anniversary “thank you!” to those Patrons who have been supporting our work for a year or more!

First let me thank pack members who have been supporting our work for the last 12 months as of this week (July 25-31):

Matthew T. and TJ Y.

(You totally rock, Matthew and TJ!)

I’d like to send out a big thank you to a member of the Woolfpack who has been supporting our work for 36 months of this week (July 25-31):

Kevin M.

(Three years of support! Thank you so much, Kevin!)

And a heroic thank you as well as for a Woolfpack member who has been supporting our work for 48 months of this week (July 25-31):

Ken B.

(Four years of support! Thank you so much, Ken!)

And let me also send out my biggest howl to a member of the Woolfpack who has been supporting this comic and our work from the very beginning!

Here is the awesome reader who has been supporting me and this comic for 72 months (6 years!) as of this week (July 25-31):

Nadine S.

Thank you so much, Nadine! Y’all are so awesome!

Thank you all so much for your amazing, ongoing support! It’s the consistent support that is what really allows me to continue making this comic. You all truly are superheroes!

So!

So! Even though they don’t share the same language, it looks like Cory and Karthak are still able to communicate. Cory knew the bath was for him, and everything moved smoothly from there, confirming Karthak’s belief that Cory is no forest ape, but rather, an angel!

Well, this page is certainly a lot more relaxing that all the other ones Cory has been through. Calgon, take him away!

Can this peaceful moment last? Will Karthak finally be able to convince his father that there is an angel in their midst? How will the other villagers react to Cory? And what are all those bonfires for?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! :D

Comments

have to color me stumped. I recall the commercials too.

william clapie

lmbo!

william clapie

This arc is meant to be a bit more humorous (and romantic) than Double Cross.

Alex Woolfson

You know me too well, Lee.

Alex Woolfson

We'll see how big a priority that is for Karthak's father. :)

Alex Woolfson

Glad somebody got that, QueBijoux!

Alex Woolfson

It's a safe bet, Theadora! :)

Alex Woolfson

In the original version of my script, Cory did look around first for chopped vegetables, but it had to be cut for time. :)

Alex Woolfson

LOL noooooooo

KendallPB

ah, hopefully "no" on the sacrifice. After all he is seen as an angel by his "monster dude". This page is almost funny. Like a Smothers Brothers skit.

william clapie

And now that Cory is clean, he’s ready for his bonfire sacrifice…..

Lee Rawitscher

I do hope Karthak provides Cory with some fresh clothes. It doesn't do any good if you're clean but your clothes are not!

QueBijoux

Had to chuckle at the "Calgon, take him away!" reference. Vintage commercials are still relevant. ;)

QueBijoux

Gotta figure the big beasties don't like fire same as terrestrial beasties.

Theadora

Here’s hoping they find a way to communicate. (Also glad that wasn’t a giant soup pot.)
