Fallen Cover Sneak Preview!

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

One of the things I'm most grateful for is for you and your support of this work. It's the only reason I'm able to continue making these comics, and it allows me to make them free to read for those can't afford to pay for them. Which is huge. I've said it before, but y'all are the true heroes of The Young Protectors.

And today I have a special treat for you! The first chapter of Cory Alvarado's romantic adventure, Fallen, is now complete. And so I've been working on the official cover for this story arc—and I can now give you a sneak preview of the pencils!

The Latest Cool Cover

As you know, it's my goal to create work that just as good as what the "mainstream" publishers put out, if not better. But for us. And I think part of that is creating awesome covers for each of our story arcs.

If you're curious, I created a post showing off all the covers I've had made so far, along with the Sneak Preview of the Double Cross cover. (And then, a few weeks later, I revealed the full color version of that cover.)

Y'all let me know that you really liked these cover reveals, so I'm doing it again. And again, the gorgeous linework is by main Young Protectors penciler, Adam DeKraker!

What I Was Going For

Fallen is a return to action-romance for me. While there is romance in all my stories, Cory's adventure with Karthak is meant to be romance-focused, and just more of an all-around fun time. While there will be plenty of superhero action (it is written by me, after all), there's also going to be lots of kissing and comedy.

So, I wanted the cover to reflect that. And I think Adam totally delivered here. We've got the big kiss up top, a little monster-fighting action on the side, and poor Cory falling in front of the title which I think brings equal parts fun and thrills.

Stay tuned for the colored version!

And like last time, in a couple weeks, I'll be able to send on the colored version of this art, and hoo boy, it's a stunner. Easily one of my favorite Young Protectors pin-ups.

I can't wait to share it with you!

Let me know what you think!

But for now, please let me know what you think of the black-and-white version.

Do you think it captures the spirit of the story? If you saw this on the cover of a book, would it make you curious to take a peek at the pages inside?

Let me know!

Thank you!

And thank you again for your continued support. You're the reason I can hire brilliant artists to create pin-ups of cute boys kissing. Which I hope is as fun for you as it is for me.

You all are awesome. :D
