NOT the game!

So it's been pointed out to me that instead of making big updates once in a century I could do very small updates but more frequently and just let you guys know what I am working on on this particular day.Well, here we go. I am working on the store today. Adding books and items and making sure everything works the way it supposed to.The downside of such updates is that I will be probably doing the same thing tomorrow and the day after because all this is VERY time consuming. And there is a possibility that my next update could be identical to this one. Well, that's that.

NOT the game!

A game of armchairs... Hm. What would that be a parody of? ;)

Nordicberserk

Hahaha, that's true. I knew it was Game of Thrones, but wasn't sure if he was talking about someone elses' material or something :P

Double A

Got it. All of you guys seem to have more or less similar view on this. And I completely agree with what you are saying.

AKAMAN

So that's exactly what you expected to see, right? Good. Will try to stick to this.

AKAMAN

Thanks, buddy. You guys are gold.

AKAMAN

A "Game of Thrones" reference probably. But I think there were plenty of whores already in the original material.

AKAMAN

Heh... Good good. I'm glad everyone here have pretty much same opinion on this.

AKAMAN

That sounds pretty good to me as well.

AKAMAN

Sounds simple enough. Could do that.

AKAMAN

Whores of Westeros?

Double A

Am I the only one who thinks of the upcoming "Whores of Westeros Trainer"? +_+

The only way ultimately profits the most is if you handle the development in a way you feel most comfortable with. I think the best thing would be a weekly update? You don't have to be technical or anything. Or even provide visual updates ( though sometimes would be cool ) Basically, consider making updates where you basically give at least a very vague summary of what you've been up to game-development wise once a week or once every 10 days, or something else. Gives people something to look forward to and will hopefully not make it feel to grindy for you if you feel you HAVE to make an update everday. In the end it comes down to what works best for you but a weekly or something update would probably be a good balance. You don't even have to make the updates a big deal I think a very brief "I did this and that and worked on this" once a week or something would sate most of us I think.

Dirk Delva

Yeah... That what I would normally do. Unless I have to work on the same thing for a long period of time.

AKAMAN

Got it.

AKAMAN

Great. I can do that easily.

AKAMAN

Exactly...

AKAMAN

I join the other on thé everyday update would be too much, but once a week is maybe a bit not enough, I personally think that two little updates a week or just telling us you are well alive and working would be a good compromise between giving us updates more often and not really force you to say us anything if you don't have much interesting bits to saisfy or curiosity and not consume too much of your time. For a next little update à walking video would be nice if you have time ;)

UT62

What he said, as long as you're not dead its fine.

Nemesis Valentine

Thanks for the update, much appreciated. I would agree with what others have said, once a day reports may be too time consuming and may lead to burnout. Only you know what you like to do though, if you enjoy telling us what is going on, then I am sure no one will mind. "Well, here we go. I am working on the store today. Adding books and items and making sure everything works the way it supposed to." This is all I was referring to in the prior post. Instead of just saying, "Got things done," while this is still vague, we can more specific information into how things are shaping up without spoiling anything. So, if you did a once a week post, you would just say, "worked on the shop this week, added tons of items to play with..." or something (if that makes sense). Anyways, keep up the good work, appreciate your willingness to read feedback from your fans!

YummyTiger Gaming

Exactly. One status update a week is more than enough. Anything more would be a waste of your valuable time.

Oric13

That sounds pretty good to me.

Venture

I agree with most of the sentiment in the replies. Once a week updates or walking videos was more then fine. I'm afraid you will get burned out quickly on the to frequent updates.

Gerhalt

You're right, Ace!

Lanthanio

Very nice of you to do that kind of update thing. I say if you are on the same particular task as the day before, don't bother telling us. We are not your abusive girlfriend that need to know how you spend every second of your time. Just keep us updated on whenever you move onto a new part of your project or you have something you'd like to share. We want you to stick around for a long time so don't get a sour taste in your mouth from having to keep us updated as soon as you take a crap. Sorry 'bout all those tl;dr posts xD

Steffen Nissen

The crux of game development - or software development in general - sometimes you're apperantly working at 'the same thing' for a week just to be sure to have a case for every possibillity.

artisticMink

Well, now i can't wait to read "the game of armchairs"! =P

Seems like a good thing to do, but like another person said we don't need a report literally every day. Perhaps every time you start working on something new you should post one.

Rob

Same as everione else, just a walking video or similar "hey I am alive" once every week or two weeks is enough, we feel the love ^^

Ace

While frequent updates are appreciated, like I've said before, just do what you are comfortable and willing to post. No need to stress yourself out. Even a simple "I'm still working on it." post will do wonders. :)

Passionately Odd Syntax

Well, it's not like you have to make an update everyday ^^ having news from you is cool, but if you have nothing to say or to show, we won't force you :)
