The Young Protectors: Double Cross Chapter Two—Page 29

Remember your manners, Spooky — what’s the magic word?

You can talk about this page at The Young Protectors Community here.

I’ve created an introductory Landing Page for these comics, and I’d love to hear what you think about it!

We now have over 800 pages of free comics on this site, and I’ve heard from some new readers that they could really use an introductory landing page to get them oriented to what’s here. So, I just created one, and I’d love to get your feedback on it!

Does it make sense? Does it address the kind of concerns a new reader, not familiar with our work, would have? Anything missing? Anything not clear? Anything that should be included to make sure a reader who would love our work knows these comics are for them?

If you could let me know your thoughts, I’d very much appreciate it. I’d love to make new readers feel as welcome here as possible, and y’all are super smart about this kind of thing. Thank you for your help! 🙂

You can find the landing page here.

ANNIVERSARY PATRON THANK YOUS

It’s my great pleasure to send out another, very special Woolfpack anniversary “thank you!” to the superheroes of this comic who have been supporting our work month after month!

First let me thank a pack member who has been supporting our work for the last 12 months as of this week (Mar 1-7):

Ron S.

(You totally rock, Ron!)

And a heroic thank you as well as for Woolfpack members who have been supporting our work for 36 months of this week (Mar 1-7):

Edmund Michael K. and Jeff S.

(Three years of support! Thank you so much, Edmund Michael and Jeff!)

And let me also send out my biggest howl to those members of the Woolfpack who have been supporting this comic and our work from the very beginning!

These are the awesome readers who have been supporting me and this comic for 60 months (5 years!) as of this week (Mar 1-7):

Daniel, Janie, Jim, Ken, Loucrat, Mark, Oh_Myy, SleepingD, Anna Ã., Bill B., Matt C., John D., Remi G., Tim M., Bowen P., Tahir R., Luce S., David S. and Stephen S.

Thank you so much, Daniel, Janie, Jim, Ken, Loucrat, Mark, Oh_Myy, SleepingD, Anna, Bill, Matt, John, Remi, Tim, Bowen, Tahir, Luce, David and Stephen! Y’all are so awesome!

Thank you all so much for your amazing, ongoing support! It’s the consistent support that is what really allows me to continue making this comic. You all truly are superheroes!

So!

So! What would have happened to Spooky if he had just charged through the front door, like he originally intended? Who’s that manning the cannon? And will Flyboy let Spooky use violence?

Tune in this Saturday to find out! Hope to see you there! 😀

Hey Goodyear! Glad to hear you like the landing page! Thank you very much for your in-depth notes. I think we've now fixed the two typos you caught. (Please let me know if we missed them!) As for how to handle the Teaser wording for the teaser pages of Fallen, I'm on the fence. I had hoped that by keeping the word "Teaser" outside of the quotes, that we would avoid folks getting confused. (And one reader who did get confused earlier suggested I do so), But maybe putting it into the parentheses would be more clear. I think I might wait to get a little more feedback on that one, but it's a good suggestion. And I very much appreciate you giving the page your excellent copywriter's attention! :D

Thank you again! (And that's a good question you're asking...)

Alex Woolfson

Thank you, QueBijoux! That's great to hear!

Alex Woolfson

Thank you, KendallPB!

We shall see.... :)

The landing page is great -- very in-depth explanation and gets me excited to read the comics all over again! Two errors I caught: - In the link to read "Past Sins", mini-arc is missing an "i": "You can read the entire min-arc for free starting here." - The URL to the "The Young Protectors Volume One Character Cheat Sheet" doesn't capture the "t" at the end of the name! And one point of personal preference for the sake of clarity: in the top drop-down menu under comics, the final entry for "Fallen" could place the word teaser inside the brackets with "complete", either as (teaser complete) or (complete teaser). That way if people are scrolling looking for just the complete comics based on what's in the brackets, they don't hop over, read 10 pages, and feel swindled. Obviously this is just personal preference and there's nothing actually wrong about the way it's been done, but I thought I'd point it out anyway. Can you tell I used to do copywriting and editing along with website audits for a living? Ha ha!

Goodyear

Great page! Who is that robed figure expecting? Thank goodness Mitch and Spooky didn't come in the front door...

QueBijoux

The landing page is TERRIFIC! It provides an excellent overview of your work -- everything a new reader needs.

QueBijoux

The landing page looks good to me, BTW!

KendallPB

I'm suspicious of the special effect around the canon. Magic, surely, but . . . the robed figure's magic or someone else's? Dun dun DUN!
