PSA: The amount you pledge here is completely up to you

Hi y'all!

I just received a question from a long-time Patron, Theadora, asking if it was possible to pledge a different amount than what is listed in the "Reward Tiers" I offer.

They wrote:

Is there a way we could bump up our monthly donations from one of the tiers to an in-between place (like from $5 to $7)? Because some of us might be able to do that. If so, publicizing that option might allow some of us who can't go all the way to another tier to help out more.

It's a great question. The answer is yes, you absolutely can.

Pledge Amounts Are Separate From Tiers

Not a lot of folks seem to know this, but how much you pledge and what tier your are on are actually two separate things on Patreon. (Which has occasionally lead to some confusion when folks have pledged X amount of dollars but then failed to select the tier they were entitled to!) The amount of money you pledge determines which tiers you have access to, but how much you pledge is totally up to you.

Now, to be clear, I am grateful for any support, especially now, and I only want folks to pledge what they can afford. I want y'all to be safe and ok. But a number of you have increased your pledges over the last week, and I think it is good information to know that you have complete control over what amount you pledge here. That way you can tailor the amount to something that works for you.

Thank you, all of you, for your support and for your positive response to my request for help. Like I said in my update, we still have some distance to cover before we can get the support back to pre-pandemic levels. But I really feel so grateful for the new pledges that are coming in and, of course, to those of you who have been able to increase your support.

You all are the real superheroes of The Young Protectors, the wind underneath my wings, and I hope to be able to keep creating these stories for you for a long time to come. :)
